MISSION

The Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools is dedicated to providing resources to improve and enhance the educational development of all MCCSC students.

Program Description

The Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools (FMCCS) is pleased to announce a grant program designed to provide funding for high impact projects and programs. These grants will fund projects that are based in research, collaborative in nature, and have the potential for transformative outcomes.

High Impact, Innovation grantswill be awarded twice a year in a two-step application process. Applicants will submit an initial one-page pre-proposal in either October or May containing asynopsis of their proposed project. Applicants will be asked to complete a fully developed proposal if their project is selected by the evaluation committee for furtherconsideration. The schedule for this process is as follows:

POLICIES

  1. All requests for funding that conform to the grant guidelines and submission instructions will be considered. Funding priority will be given to requests that have apermanent, on-goingvalue or long term benefit for students. One-timeprojects may be considered if they significantlybenefit a substantial number of students.
  1. Applications must be submitted by principals or other MCCSC administrators.
  1. Grant proposals must be based in research and collaborative in nature.
  1. Some of the criteria the Foundation will consider in evaluating proposals include:
  • Innovation and creativity
  • Potential for transformative outcomes
  • Number of students involved and/or impacted
  • Potential for long-term benefit
  • Alignment with funding priorities
  1. High Impact Innovation grants are awarded in amounts of $5,000 or more. Proposals will be judged on a competitive basis. They may not be funded or may be only partially funded.
  1. If requesting funds for any technology related items including hardware and software, please contact the MCCSC Information Services Department to determine that these items are compatible with MCCSC information systems and that pricing is appropriate. Requests will only be considered if they are not included in the overall MCCSC technology plan. These requests must be supported by curriculum needs and impact the most students possible.
  1. Any item purchased with Foundation funds will remain at the school to which it was granted, if applicable.
  1. Grant recipients may be asked to make a presentation or a display about their project for Foundation events or use. Grant recipients will be asked to announce their grant to the parents of students participating, to school faculty and in school publications. The Foundation should be included in any publicity regarding the project.
  1. A grant evaluation must be submitted no later than one year from the date of the award.
Submission Instructions

Starting in the Fall of 2010, all grants must be submitted electronically. The Foundation will make online submission available to all applicants via a link on the Foundation’s website. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m.on the following deadline dates.
