Eton Manor RFC To Eton School Charity Cycle Back To The Future From The Wilderness

OnThursday 21stFriday 22nd May 2015 over 60 cyclist from Eton Manor Rugby club will undertake a 2 day charity bike ride from its clubhouse in Wanstead across London to the world famous Eton School and then return the next day via a circular route around the capital .
The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for one of the oldest amateur rugby clubs in the country whilst raising the awareness of such a unique sporting institution which today is embedded in the heart of a strong vibrant multi cultural community in East London .
Many people may not be aware of the unique history of Eton Manor Boys Club which was founded in the East End Of London by Old Etonians and which is still flourishing today through the values established at Eton School.

Day 1 Thursday 21st May 2015

Eton Manor Wanstead –Slough Via Eton School approx 60 miles –Overnight accommodation with Dinner and Entertainment

Detailed route to follow but will include lunch and water stops .Ride will start at 9am

Day 2Friday 22nd May 2015

Slough To Eton Manor Wanstead via Richmond Park and Olympic Park approx 55 miles

Detailed Route To Follow but will include breakfast ,water stops and lunch .

Cycle marshalls will be on hand with regular water stops. Lunch will be provided on both days , breakfast on the 2nd day with a fabulous dinner with a few surprises thrown in .

A Cycle mechanic and first aider will also be on hand throughout the ride which is open to everyone over the age of 16 .

Cyclist will be required to provide their own insurance and all cyclists complete the ride at their own risk and must wear cycle helmets .Cyclist will be sharing overnight accommodation.

It is expected that the ride will be over subscribed and as we only have 60 places available we will require each cyclist to have gained sponsorship and pay a non refundable deposit of £150 via Eton Manor Bank Account by 31stDecember with a further £150 to be paid by the 28th February 2015 .

Hopefully every cyclist will try to raise more and there will be special prize for the highest fund raiser .
