London to Brighton Activities Pack

Includes the possibility to transform the route back to the seventies. 2 new different train types for this period: Class 31 and Class 33 Locomotives, with custom built cabs. For today there's new Class 375, 455 and 456 models and different Class 319 and 377's. 30 Activities and much more!

Following the overwhelmingly positive feedback received after publication of the long awaited London Brighton Express route in July, we spent a lot of time studying users comments and suggestions. There were so many in fact that we have taken many of them and produced a new budget priced CD Add-On, containing many new items which complement the original London Brighton Route. The CD is packed with features - enough to attract people who have yet to purchase LBE!

London -Brighton in the 1970's - The first item on the CD is one which many people requested. London Brighton Express is set around modern day commuter operations - the stations contain many refurbished / modern items such as Dot Matrix displays, Driver Operated Train Mirrors, Station name signs in modern company colours. As many people wanted to drive the route with older stock, such modern equipment looked out of place so we set about making a batch file that would remove the modern items and give the line a 1970's feel. The file also allows reconversion back to the modern style. It is even possible to remove the third rail from the route by altering the detail slider in the game set up when selecting the route!

New Locomotives and Rolling Stock - To enhance the users enjoyment of the route and to provide variety, there are a whole lot of new trains supplied for the route, including;

D5541 - A green Class 31 Diesel Locomotive for use with the 1970's version

D6566 - A BR Corporate Blue liveried Class 33 locomotive carrying its original number for the 1970's

33014 - Another Class 33 loco, this time a weatherworn TOPS numbered loco from the 70's

The following items of British Rail passenger coaching stock in Blue and Grey Livery - suitable for use in the 1970's and also for modern day traffic as a blue / grey liveried set is retained for special and charter train work -

Mk 1 BCK, Mk 1 BG, Mk 1 BSK, Mk 1 CK, Mk 1 FK, Mk 1 RMB, Mk 1 SK, Mk 1 TSO

There is also a wagon which was used in the 70's but can still be used today, the Brown MTV coded 4 wheel stone wagon.

There is not much in the way of freight traffic over this principally commuter railway line, but of course, there have to be Engineers freight trains to maintain the railway. Therefore, we have included examples of BDA Bogie wagons,

FPA Russell Coal carrying wagons, OCA - Speedlink red engineers wagons and ZKV - Grey / yellow liveried Barbel wagons for this traffic.

Wagons mean locomotives and we have included those, in abundance, including;

33208 - Yellow / Grey Infrastructure Liveried Narrow Bodied Class 33/2 diesel locomotive

Brand new Electric Multiple Units provided for the route include South London Metro 2 car sets, in South Central yellow and Network SouthEast liveries, Class 375 3 car EMU, 375336 and new versions of the South Central Class 319 EMU, the Thameslink Metro Class 319/3 EMU and the new express Class 377 unit. There will also be a driveable South Central Class 455 EMU.

Driving Cabs - The new locomotives come with their own specially built driving cabs as illustrated.

Route Updates - In response to requests, we have included a representation of the EMU maintenance Depot at Selhurst and reworked the Redhill area to include new sidings. A new station is provided at Norwood Junction. Opportunity has also been taken to update and improve signalling on the London Brighton Express route and an installer is provided to help users of Lower Specification computers to overcome a problem they may have experienced in the Hassocks area with the car spawner. Other tweaks made following suggestions should enhance the operation of the route.

Manual - A descriptive manual - in three languages - is included to detail the new stock and changes included on the AddPack.

Activities - Not only have we updated activities from the original London Brighton Express package but we now have over 30 brand new activities to test your driving skills, featuring local passenger, express, excursion, empty coaching stock and freight engineers trains.
