Dear Parents
Welcome to the Germantown Swim Team. We are very excited that your swimmer is a part of our team. There are several activities we try to do together as a team, in addition to the monthly swim meets. We have a kick off party at the beginning of the season in September, the haunted and un-haunted corn maze in October, the Christmas skating party in December and our awards banquet in May. All these activities are announced through our team emails. To insure that you and your swimmer are receiving all the team news you will need to do the following: Register your swimmer on our website at and pay the $215.00 annual registration fee (this fee is separate from the one paid for quarterly swim session fees at the front desk).
The $215.00 registration fee covers their USA swimming registration. Our swim club, coaches and swimmers are covered by USA swimming insurance. In order for the club and coaches to be covered all swimmers practicing or competing in the swim meets must be registered with USA swimming. USA swimming also provides additional coverage for its swimmers (see attached information). The registration fee also covers the team t-shirt, swim cap, and team parties.
There is a second set of fees. These fees are based on the swim group your child is assigned (please attached sheet) and are paid directly to the athletic center. The fees are paid at the beginning of each session (fall – September 1, winter - December 1, spring – March 1 and summer June 1). These fees cover coaches’ salary and pool maintenance.

- Copy of swimmer’s Birth Certificate
- $215 registration (non-refundable) fee*. Make check payable to GST

- Visit the GAC front desk to make payments for swim session fees

2014-2015 Registration Instructions
For New GST Families
1. Go to gstswimming.com, click on start registration, which can be found on the left hand side of the web page.
2. 2015-2016 GST Registration page will open, click on register now.
3. Choose I am not sure if I have an account on this team, this is the email address I want to use
Type in your email address and click next
4. 2015-2016 GST registration page will open
Create a password
Fill in fields for Billing Information, Guardians and Insurance
Click next, this will take you to the swimmers registration page
5. Add new member. Enter your swimmers information at the bottom it will say add. On this page you will enter locations wither Germantown Pool or Jackson Pool and Register to this group. This is the swim group assigned at evaluations (see form you received at the evaluation) You will then go to a new screen were you can Agree to the terms for Medical release, Liability Waiver and Dietary Supplement. Digital photography and email are optional, click continue
6. On this page you can edit any information you entered or add an additional swimmer if you are registering multiple swimmers. Once this is completed click on next
7. Make sure all information is correct select method of payment. You may pay by check of credit card. To change the method of payment click on drop down box.
8. The total charges will appear at the bottom of the page if you agree select complete registration
9. Registration is now complete once payment has been received you will receive an email to set up your personal account on our website.
10. Please remember there are two payments separate fees, $215.00 which is the team registration fee and paid directly to the team and swim session fees that are paid at the front desk to the athletic center.

Membership Protection
USA Swimming’s policy for membership protection is:
- To provide safety education for its membership;
- To provide excess accident medical protection for USA Swimming members who may suffer injuries
while participating in insured activities;
- To provide evidence of financial responsibility so that USA Swimming clubs can conduct insured
activities.
To implement this policy, USA Swimming has adopted two major programs:
- Excess Accident Medical Protection
- General Liability Insurance
These two programs are intended to provide reasonable protection for USA Swimming athletes, non-athlete members and clubs.

Coverage is a benefit of membership in USA Swimming and begins upon receipt of the completed membership application form with appropriate fee and acceptance by the LSC Registration/Membership Chair or its designee.
Swimming supervised, sponsored, sanctioned or approved event including:
- Competitions and meets;
- Organized practice sessions;
- Approved social and fund raising activities;
- Travel to and from competitions, meets, events, organized practice sessions, approved social
and fundraising activities at the direction of a coach or club board of directors;
- OVC events for USA Swimming Officials only
USA Swimming Insurance Coverage for the Club
Question: What must a club do to have the benefit of USA Swimming’s insurance coverage?
Answer: A club’s USA Swimming insurance coverage is in effect when all three of the following conditions are met:
1. The club is a member in good standing of USA Swimming.
2. All participants swimming for the club are athlete members of USA Swimming
(exception: see Tryouts)
3. All coaches, whether they are full-time or part-time, are coach members of USA Swimming with current certifications, education and background checks as required by USA Swimming.
If all three of these conditions are met, the USA Swimming club has the benefit of USA Swimming’s liability coverage for insured activities.

In accordance with the GST Mission Statement and Vision Statement, and in association and compliance with USA Swimming, and State of Tennessee Law, GST has adopted several policies and guidelines aimed at the protection of our children, coaches and parents. The intent of these policies and guidelines is to communicate and provide parameters of what is expected of all involved with GST. Where possible, we have provided age appropriate versions of certain policies. It is a requirement of participation with GST that all registered GST Swimmers, their parents and coaches acknowledge all of these policies and guidelines.

The yearly registration fee must be paid when the swimmer joins the team. Please make the check payable to Germantown Swim Team.
**The Germantown Athletic Club fee must be paid seasonally:
Seasonal fees are paid at the front desk. Full payment for a swim season should be made prior to the season start date. Swim Team participants who are not paid by the end of the first week of the season will not be allowed to swim.Scheduled, authorized payments for the entire year may be set up at the start of the swim season.
There will be no monthly drafts.
