Dear Explorers (& parents),
Summer Camp 2015 is to Zeeland in The Netherlands. We’re having a bit of a change and will be staying at an official Scout campsite (www.scoutcentrumzeeland.nl) in a unique indoor centre called The Hopman Building. The building was built in 2011 and is right next to a large lake. It has a capacity for 50 people, with 3 dormitory rooms with bunk beds, a large dining / activity room, and an open wood fire.
The camp will be full of water and beach based activities, sight seeing and a day trip to Amsterdam. We are going to be hiring small boats and canoes from a local Scout troop. With it being a proper Scout campsite, we’ll be embracing cooking on open fires occasionally and constructing large scale pioneering projects too. The lake is also very popular for swimming in which will be refreshing to wake up to!
The dates are 1st-15th August. The centre is already booked and paid for so the date is 100% set in stone. We will be travelling by road with the Scout minibus, a van and other vehicles depending on how many people we have going.
The cost for summer camp 2015 is £575 per person. This includes transport, camp fees, food, day trips, most activities and insurance.
If you wish to come, you need to pay a non-returnable £50 deposit by Monday 8th December and return it with the slip below. You need to pay the final balance for camp by the end of June 2015.
