Position Description: Director of Admissions, After School Program, and Volunteer Management
Chicago West Side Christian School, located in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood, serves families by providing a PK – 8th grade school program and before-school, after-school and summer programs. Established in 1969 with a commitment to providing affordable, quality Christian education to west side families, the school has grown tremendously. Eleven years ago, it moved into a new facility that can house up to 200 students and is providing expanded opportunity for program development in the arts, recreation, and integration of technology. The school is committed to racial and socio-economic diversity, offering affordable programs with additional tuition assistance as needed. It works closely with neighborhood nonprofits to provide additional programs and services.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment (heavy January-August)
· Create recruitment materials
· Host tours
· Host Open Houses
· Attend local recruiting events
· Follow up on inquiries
· Manage admissions on RenWeb from inquiry to enrollment
2. Retention (ongoing)
· Communicate with parents about needs/wants
· Provide feedback to administrators through parent lens
· Create and analyze parent surveys
3. After-School Programming/Summer Programming
· Supervise and Train After School Program Staff
· Create afterschool schedule
· Provide and maintain after school materials
· Supervise Kids Café feeding program
· Supervise Moody Bible Institute PCM volunteers
· Work with bookkeeper re: after school program invoicing
· Provide enriching programming
· Assist in summer programming plans/provide leadership as needed
4. Volunteer Management
· Develop effective strategies and processes for volunteer recruitment, screening, placement, training, retention and growth
· Respond to all new individual, group and one-time volunteer applicants, providing an introduction to CWSCS and the areas of service available
· Develop and maintain additional volunteer training opportunities including orientation videos, cross cultural and development trainings, job descriptions, role manuals
· Recruit and coordinate individuals, groups for:
o Volunteer opportunities in classrooms
o Volunteer opportunities in after school / summer program
o Volunteer opportunities for buildings & grounds maintenance
o Volunteer opportunities for special events and other opportunities
o Volunteer opportunities to donate time, talent treasure
· Develop and promote parent volunteer opportunities
o Organize thrift store work dates
o Publicize parent volunteer opportunities
5. Fundraising
· Manage three parent fundraisers, engaging parents in sales and volunteer opportunities
· Help with the annual scholarship benefit
6. Ren-Web School Management Program
· Create enrollment and re-enrollment records
· provide technical support for staff and parents on RenWeb
· Communicate with RenWeb staff for products/services
· Manage data entry/records
· Create classes
· Update records
7. General Administration
· Weekly newsletter
· Manage school website
Position Qualifications:
· Relationally engaging to recruit and guide prospective parents and students through the admissions process
· Confident to speak publicly and represent CWSCS for recruitment of students and volunteers to external audiences
· Detail-orientated with excellent organizational abilities and written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work efficiently within programmatic databases
· Experience working with youth in after school programs, summer camps or other youth programming; leadership experience preferred
· Bachelors degree preferred in related field
