COURSE LEARNING GOALS

In this course you will:

  1. Be introduced to event design and layout as done in the event industry
  2. Learn how to effectively plan, design, layout, and communicate the features of an event to your clients, vendors, and venues
  3. Learn how to use the industry’s most all-inclusive, easy-to-use, and cost-effective 2D / 3D event design software tool to design any event (wedding, corporate, personal events)
  4. Learn how to modify an event’s plan with real-time design changes
  5. Be exposed to information required by vendors and venues to implement your event design and plan

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this course students will be able to demonstrate the following:

  1. How to design an event floor plan from beginning to end
  2. How to create floor plan templates of frequently used venues
  3. How to share an event design with clients located anywhere worldwide
  4. How to make design changes in real-time
  5. How to use Events Clique’s3D Event Designer with vendors for easy event execution

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

To effectively participate in and complete this course, students will need the following:

  1. A PC or MacBook, or access to one, with Internet capability and either:
  2. Chrome (preferred Internet browser)
  3. Any browser with Flash 11 enabled (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer)

COURSE ASSIGNMENTS

Below is the suggested outline for Events Clique’s3D Event DesignerCourse Assignments:

Video 1 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 1” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to create a space with the following features:

  • Create an indoor space with 5+ wall angles
  • Change the color / texture of the walls
  • Change the color / texture of the ceiling
  • Change the color / texture of the floor
  • Understand how to zoom in and out of the floor plan, view the floor plan in 3D, control the camera
  • Read the “Features Overview” of the 3D Event Designer so that the student knows what to expect in the future videos

Video 2 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 2” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to enhance the floor plan in “Video1” with room construction and wall decor:

  • Add doors
  • Add windows
  • Add lighting (chandelier and wall sconce)
  • Add draping
  • Add a partial wall
  • Add columns

Video 3 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 3” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to enhance the floor plan in “Video 2” with furniture and room décor:

  • Add tables and change color
  • Add chairs and change chair color
  • Add centerpieces and change color
  • Add place settings
  • Add a bar
  • Add a dance floor
  • Etc.

Video 4 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 4” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to enhance the floor plan in “Video 3” with a foyer setup for cocktail hour:

  • Add a new room (resize, change wall/ceiling/flooring colors and textures)
  • Add room construction (doors, lighting, paneling/molding, etc.)
  • Add furniture and décor

Video 5 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 5” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to enhance the floor plan in “Video 4” with an outdoor Wedding Ceremony area:

  • Add two new outdoor spaces (resize, name, change floor texture/material)
  • Add Outdoor Items
  • Add furniture and décor to resemble a Wedding Ceremony

Video 6 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 6” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to enhance the floor plan in “Video 5” with a Seating Chart and Notes:

  • Add a seating chart (assign a table number and assign chair names to the head table)
  • Add their timeline to the “Notes” section
  • Click the “PDF Floor Plan & Notes” button to create a PDF for all vendors for event execution/setup day

Video 7 Assignment:

By the end of “Video 7” students should be able to perform the following actions / their assignment will be to:

  • Create a floor plan template
  • Share their final design on Facebook
  • Submit their final design to the instructor via the “Share by Email” button
