1.JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: SECURITY GUARDResponsible to: Security Manager
Department(s): Security
2. JOB PURPOSE
To maintain and enhance all physical security measures at allpay premises to deter criminal activity. This will be achieved through guarding, patrolling, monitoring by way of CCTV and maintaining a high visibility presence.3. DIMENSIONS
To provide a comprehensive security service to approximately 180 employees and various visitors / contractors to allpay Limited.
To ensure the total physical security of allpay Limited premises both internally and externally.
The Security team consists of 4Security Guards a Security Guard Supervisor and a Security Manager.
To liaise as appropriate with the relevant external suppliers or contractors.
To call the police or fire station in case of an emergency, such as criminal or suspicious activity or to report the discovery of a fire.
4. ROLE OF DEPARTMENT
To ensure the effective maintenance of physical security of allpay Limited property, its staff and all visitors to the site.5. KEY RESULT AREAS
To be the first point of contact at the security Gatehouse for visitors to allpay Limited providing excellent customer service and dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.To maintain a presence in both the Gatehouse and CCTV Control Room to ensure that no unauthorised personnel enter the site and all areas both internally and externally are monitored for signs of unlawful intrusion and criminal activity.
To patrol the allpay Limited premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, and ensure the physical security of all doors, windows, fences and gates.
To challenge and deal with unauthorised personnel on site in a positive and courteous manner.
To report all incidents of security breaches to the Security Guard Supervisor / Security Manager and Senior Management.
To write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or unusual occurrences.To record and maintain accurate log books in relation to all securitymatters.
Monitor internal control systems to ensure that appropriate access levels and security clearances are maintained. This will involve the modification and altering of the internal settings on Card Access System Controls (Pro-Watch) with the written authorisation and approval from the relevant Director.
Respond to fire and intruder alarm activations, reports of criminal activity and investigate disturbances.
To carry out Random Searches of Staff and operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles to or from restricted areas.
To ensure that all Health and Safety procedures relating to vehicular traffic and general activity on site are adhered to.
“The post-holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may be reasonably expected within the scope and grading of the post”.

7. KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
Experience in a similar role and preferably trained to S.I.A standard in either Manned Guarding, Door Supervision or PSS CCTVEducated to GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
Knowledge of CCTV Systems, and associated legislation
Good Microsoft office skills
Experience of customer care and dealing with the public
The ability to become an integral part of a small team, and when necessary be able to work alone in a confined CCTV control room
The ability to write concise, accurate and unambiguous reports to a high standard along with excellent attention to detail
Open and honest and not afraid to challenge all forms of unacceptable behaviour
Respectful and courteous at all times to colleagues and members of the public
The ability to dynamically risk assess any given situation and respond in a positive and methodical manner
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing, and make clear informed decisions under pressure in order to resolve any given situation.
