Ø  Gang of arms supplier busted and two persons including the head of the gang arrested.

Ø  Huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition including one 9 MM Carbine machine gun, 8 pistols, one revolver, 38 live cartridges of different bore and one Maruti Car recovered.

In a major breakthrough, Special Unit of Crime Branch has succeeded in unearthing a gang involved in supply of illegal sophisticated weapons in Delhi and NCR region. Two persons including the head of the gang and his associate have been arrested and from their possessionone 9 MM Carbine machine gun, 8 pistols, one revolver, and 38 live cartridges of different bore have been recovered. The recovered weapons were manufactured with high proficiency skills and hardly anyone could detect the imitation and its first time that weapon like 9 MM carbine machine gun have been seized.

INCIDENT AND OPERATION:

There was secret input since last some days in Special Unit, Crime Branch that a gang headed by Saurabh r/o Dasna was involved in sale/supply of illegal sophisticated weapon in Delhi and NCR which were brought by them from the area of Eastern UP and Munger, Bihar. There were every possibility that these illegal weapons might have been used by the gangster/criminals of Delhi and NCR while committing sensational crime in Delhi and nearby areas. It was also learnt that this gangin the recent past had supplied/sold sophisticate weapons like 9 mm carbine machine gun to the gangsters. To apprehend the criminals and to unearth the whole nexus, a dedicated team consisting of HC Vikram Dutt, HC Rakesh Tomar and Ct. Kusum Pal were put on the task to collect the details about these criminals.A careful study regarding the MO of this gang was carried out.

On dated 23.2.13, specific information was received that Saurbh along with his associate would come near Hasan Pur Depot, Karkari Mor, IP Extension, Delhi in a car to deliver the consignment of illegal weapons to a local conduit of a gangster. Accordingly, a trap was laid and at about 2.35 pm, two persons who were later identified as 1. Saurabh s/o Late Sh. Mansa Ram r/oMohalla Hanuman Mandir, Doodhia Pipal, Dasna, PS Masoori, Distt. Ghaziabad, UP, Age 24 years and 2. Vinay Pawar S/o Sh. Sandeep Pawar R/o C- 29 Hazara Park, Chander Nagar, PS Jagat Puri, Delhi, Age- 23 years came there in a Maruti Car No. UP-13W-8456. They were stopped and overpowered after a brief scuffle and recovered one 9 MM Carbine machine gun, 8 pistols, one revolver, and 38 live cartridges of different bore from their possession. A case vide FIR no. 34/13 u/s 25-27/4/59 Arms Act PS Crime Branch has been registered in this regard.

They were subjected to intensive interrogation, it was revealed that this gang headed by Saurabh was involved in this illegal trade of weapon since last two years and had supplied more than 50 sophisticated weapons to various persons including the gangsters of Delhi and NCR. They used to procure these weapons from various suppliers who brought weapon from Munger, Bihar. Various gangsters and criminals of Delhi and NCR were in touch with this gang for fulfilling their demands of sophisticated weapons . Efforts are being made to identify them. The description and the rates of the weapon purchased by this gang are given below:

1. 9 MM Carbine machine gun purchased @ Rs. 1,50,000 to 1,65,000/- and sold @ Rs. 2 to 2.5 lakh.

2.9 MM pistol purchased @ Rs. 15 to 20,000/- and sold @ Rs. 20-25,000/-

3..30 pistol purchased @ Rs. 25-30,000/- and sold @ Rs. 30-35,000/-

4..32 pistol purchased @ Rs. 15 to 20,000/- and sold @ Rs. 20-25,000/-

5..32 Revolver purchased @ Rs. 12-15,000/- and sold @ Rs. 18-20,000/-

PROFILE

1. Saurabh was born in village Dasna, PS Masoori, Distt. Ghaziabad, UP. His father used to run a sweet shop in the local vicinity. He could not complete his primary education and left the studies after fourth class and started assisting his father in the shop and also did some part time jobs in the private factories. About 5 years back, his father expired and being the eldest in the family, whole burden to meet the daily needs fell on him. About 5-6 years back, he came in contact with Shakil r/o Dasna who was a driver and involved in sale of illegal weapons in Delhi and NCR. Saurabh was facing financial crisis, hence, he also indulged in the same illegal trade and started supplying the illegal weapons in Delhi and NCR. He used to earn Rs 5,000/- to 7,000/- on small weapons and Rs 50,000/- to Rs 1 lakh on weapons like 9 mm machine gun.

2. Accused Vinay was born in Chander Nagar, Delhi. His family faced a major sat back in the business and was passing through financial crisis. Vinay could not complete his education after 8thclass. About 2 years back, he came in contact with Saurabh r/o Dasna, who roped him in his gang. A handsome amount was paid to him by Saurabh for bringing the orders of illegal weapons and also for supplying the same.

Police is on the trail of other accomplices and more recoveries and arrest may take place as further investigations are done.Accused persons will be produced in the Court of Duty MM, Karkardooma Courts on 24.02.2013.

A SENSATIONAL MURDER CASE OF SENIOR CITIZEN IN LAJPAT NAGAR SOLVED WITHIN 24 HOURS;

FIVE ACCUSED PERSONS ARRESTED;

ROBBED ARTICLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of five accused persons, South-East District Police has solved a sensational case of murder cum dacoity of senior citizen within 24 hours and the robbed articles have been recovered from their possession.

ACCUSED PERSONS ARE:-

1. Navraj @ Navin aged- 19 years, s/o Dev Bahadur Khadka r/o 621, Shalimar Garden, Seemapuri, Gaziabad, UP, P/A- Badgaon, Oda No2, Kailash Mando, Gavish Satianchal, Distt. Bajura, Nepal.

2. Harish Bahadur Khadait @ Harka aged- 19 years, s/o Kishan Bahadur Khadait r/o Kultaio Mando Gavish, Ward No. 2, Satianchal Distt. Bajura, Nepal.

3. Ranga Khadka aged 22 years - s/o Lal Bahadur Khadka r/o Badgaon, Oda No. 2, Kailash Mando, Gavish Satianchal, Distt. Bajura, Nepal.

4. Padam Bahadur Khadka aged 28 years - s/o Dev Bahadur Khadka r/o Badgaon, Oda No. 2, Kailash Mando, Gavish Satianchal, Distt. Bajura, Nepal,

INCIDENT:-

On 23.02.2013 at 12.02 PM a PCR call vide DD No 26A related to theft at D-52 Lajpat Nagar-I, ND was received at PS Lajpat Nagar. Police officials of PS Lajpat Nagar reached the spot and found the main door of the house locked and the rear door open. The ground floor of the house was found ransacked and the victim Sh. Vijay Sarin was found lying on the floor of the room. His hands & legs were tied with a piece of cloth and his mouth was gagged with a duck tape. His domestic help Harish was found missing. The entire house was found ransacked and the articles inside the house were scattered. A case, vide FIR No. 51/2013 dated 23.02.2013 u/s 302/394 IPC was registered in PS Lajpat Nagar and investigation was taken up.

TEAM/INVESTIGATION:-

During the investigation it was revealed that Sh. Vijay Sarin used to live at ground floor house alone on rent. His daughter is married and living with her family in Dwarka. The victim was a property consultant. It was learnt that he had kept a domestic help of Nepali origin in his house. A mobile phone, some money and jewellery items were found missing from the house. Harish, the domestic help was missing. It was found that Sh. Sarin had not got the antecedents of his domestic servant verified from the police station.

To solve this sensation crime eight special teams consisting of Insp. Ramesh Kumar, SHO/Lajpat Nagar, Insp./Investigation Satender Sangwan, Lajpat Nagar, Insp. Virender Jain, SHO/Amar Colony, Insp. Rajiv Kumar, SHO/Greater Kailash, Insp. Rajesh Kumar, I/C Special Staff, Insp. Jagdish Yadav, AATS/SE Distt, SI Sanjiv, IC/PP Nehru Place, SI Rajiv, IC/PP Jangpura, SI R S Dagar, IC/PP S N Puri, SI Om Parkash, SI Bharat, PS Lajpat Nagar, SI Jattan, IC/PP Kale Khan, SI Rajesh, IC/PP Okhla, were constituted under the supervision of Sh. Harcharan Verma, ACP/Lajpat Nagar and overall supervision of Addl. DCP Dr. Joy Tirkey. The teams collected details of all employees of Nepali Origin working in the surrounding areas. More than 60 Nepali nationals were examined by the teams. Information was collected regarding whereabouts of Harish Bahadur @ Harka, the missing domestic help of Sh. Sarin.

During interrogation it was found that some relatives of Harish lived in the area of Rohini, Delhi. A dedicated team rushed to Rohini area immediately. After a lot of hard work, at about 12:30 pm today, the police team managed to apprehend Harish Bahadur @ Harka and his brother in law (Jija), Ranga Khadka @ Roshan from the house of a relative in Village Naharpur, Sec-7 Rohini, Delhi, before they could flee to Nepal.

On sustained interrogation both of them admitted to their involvement in the murder and robbery of Sh. Vijay Sarin. They further disclosed that, Navraj @ Navin, Padam Bahadur Khadka and Kamal Bahadur Budha were also involved in the crime. It was learnt that these three were also planning to leave for Nepal from ISBT Anand Vihar, Delhi.

A team was rushed to ISBT Anand Vihar immediately and at about 02:30 pm today, Navraj @ Navin, Padam Bahadur Khadka and Kamal Bahadur Budha were apprehended from Anand Vihar before they could board a bus to Nepal.

All the robbed articles have been recovered from the five accused persons.

MODUS OPERANDI:-

All the accused persons used to work as domestic help, chowkidaars or car cleaners in Delhi and Ghaziabad. All of them belong to the same area in Nepal and have known each other for quite some time. They often shared information about the wealth of their respective employers. They had conspired with each other to commit robbery in the house of Sh. Vijay Sarin, aged about 72, who had been living alone with his Nepali servant, Harish. They brought ropes and brown duct tape specifically for the purpose of tying up Sh. Sarin. On the fateful day, Harish opned the door from inside the house at about 01:30 am. The four other ganhg members were already waiting outside as per their plan. They assaulted Sh. Vijay Sarin before binding and gagging him with tape and ropes. They ransacked the house and took whatever valuables they could find.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:-

All the accused persons are from Nepal Origin and came to India to earn their livelihood and started working as domestic help in Delhi & NCR.

RECOVERY

1. Two expensive wrist watches.

2. Two necklaces of Beads (Moti).

3. Three ear tops (silver) studded with diamonds.

4. Two decorated stone pieces.

5. One ear ring.

6. Two silver rings studded with diamonds.

7. One mobile phone of the victim.

8. One leather purse.

9. ID Proofs of deceased.

10. Two rings (Big size).

All articles have been duly seized. Further antecedents of the accused persons are being verified.
