Electrical advancement
Nuremberg/Leinfelden-Echterdingen - (rp) The benefits of controlled, natural ventilation in the areas of “comfort” and “energy efficiency” are undisputed: It automatically ensures the supply of fresh air in line with demand in all public, commercial and private buildings at all times of the day and night, takes account of weather and temperature influences and always guarantees a comfortable room climate. It also prevents the settling of humidity and protects against the risk of mould formation. And: according to a study by the University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart (HFT), depending on the building type, climate control and heating requirement, it guarantees energy savings of between 30 and 60 kilowatt hours per square metre and year. Roto's concealed electrical Tilt opening and locking drive, the “E-Tec Drive”, is the perfect product solution for this “convincing package”, announced the hardware specialist at “Fensterbau Frontale”. The new system generation presented in Nuremberg in mid-March 2016 displays “important practical advancements”.
Of particular note is the significantly expanded application range in the sash rebate height. The lowest sash rebate height was previously 570 mm, it is now 290 mm. This minimum sash height now also makes it possible to open, close and lock very low fanlights in programmable intervals at the touch of a button. Irrespective of this, the window can still be operated manually, as the drive unit combined with the mechanical hardware complements, rather than replaces, the hardware.
Another positive identified by Roto is the revision of the software and electronics. This simplifies the installation process and the individual configuration of the window. The optimisation also ensures more convenient use. Ultimately, the update of the electronic interface improves its compatibility with Smart Home systems.
The full integration into the window profile ensures the implementation of particularly aesthetic window units and has a positive impact on the entire living surroundings. According to the manufacturer, additional features of the “E-Tec Drive” include its compatibility with the “NT” hardware range for timber and PVC windows, its suitability for the “TiltFirst” and “Tilt-Only” opening types as well as its use for sash weights of up to 100 kg. In addition, the mechanical tolerance compensation in the guiding pins on the sash is a particular highlight, especially for processing operations. It easily compensates production deviations and ultimately reduces manufacturing as well as complaint costs.
