KING OF THE DIAMOND CHALLENGE

TOURNAMENT RULES

REGISTRATION FEE:Registration Fee: $525 – includesUSSSA fee if paid online.

$475 if paid online by January 31, 2017

No Gate Fee

3-game guarantee; Awards for 1st and 2nd place

2 umpires per game

All fees due by March 24, 2017

GAME LENGTH:11U – 6 INNINGS

RUN RULES:6 INNING GAMES – 15 after 3, and 8 after 4

GAME TIME RULES:

1.Games scheduled 2 hours apart. No inning start after 1 hour 40 minutes.

2.No on-field warm-ups will be allowed after the 1st game of each day. Please use areas around park for warm-ups before games.

3.Home plate umpire is the official clock.

4.We reserve the right to alter game times in the event of weather in order to get back on pace to finish the tournament.

PITCHING RULES:

USSSA rules apply unless specifically noted otherwise for the event. Team manager must complete a pitching record and submit to the site director after each game. Teams will not be allowed to start next scheduled game if pitching record from the previous game was not submitted to the site director. Pitching will be tracked and posted on the USSSA website.

1.The maximum number of innings a player can pitch in one (1) day and still pitch the next day = 3 innings.

2.The maximum number of innings a player can pitch in three (3) consecutive days = 8 innings.

3.The maximum number of innings a player can pitch in one (1) day = 6 innings.

4.Any player that pitches three (3) consecutive days must rest the next day.

5.Pitching distance for 11U will be 50 feet. Base paths will be 70 feet

BATTING RULES:

Open to team choice. Teams may bat 9, 10 (with an E-H), or the entire lineup. See USSSA Rule 8.03.D. 2017 USSSA bat rules apply.

APPEALS:No appeals allowed.

HOME TEAM:

1.Home team is determined by coin flip.

2.Home team will hold the official book.

3.Game cards must be signed and submitted by both teams before starting the next game.

TIE BREAKERS:

Ties will be broken in the following order, see also USSSA Rule 4.09. Ties are allowed during pool play.

1.Winning percentage

2.Head to head

3.Least runs allowed

4.Highest run differential (max +/-8 runs per game)

5.Coin flip

WEATHER:

Refunds will be awarded as follows,

1.NO GAMES PLAYED - $250 ENTRY FEE REFUND

2.ONE GAME PLAYED - $150 ENTRY FEE REFUND

WITHDRAWALS:

If notice of withdrawal is submitted to and received by the tournament director at least 21 days prior to the start of the event, a $150 administrative fee will be deducted from the entry fee. Otherwise, no refund will be offered.

BALLPARK RULES:

1.Managers will be responsible for the actions of the players and fans.

2.Soft toss batting practice against the backstop or fence is prohibited.

3.Teams and fans should pick up all trash from dugouts and spectator areas and dispose in nearest trash cans.

4.Light concessions will be provided.

5.Limited onsite parking.
