NOTICE OF PROPOSED PLAN AND PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR SITE 62
Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton

The Department of the Navy, in coordination with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies, encourages the public to comment on the Proposed Plan for Site 62 at Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (Camp Pendleton) in Camp Pendleton, California.

The Proposed Plan summarizes the Navy’s investigations and activities at Site 62 and presents the basis for the Navy’s determination that no further action is necessary to protect human health and the environment. Site 62 is located in the northwestern part of Camp Pendleton and is an undeveloped area currently used for training operations. The Navy proposes no further action for Site 62 because the contaminated soil has been removed from the site.

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

The Navy invites interested members of the public to review and comment on the Proposed Plan during the 30-day public comment period from May 1, 2014, through May 30, 2014. Public comments may be submitted in writing and postmarked or e-mailed no later than May 30, 2014. PUBLIC MEETING

The Navy will host a public meeting to present the Site 62 Proposed Plan and will accept verbal and written comments at the meeting.
