Objectives
Dogs Trust operates Microsoft GP Advanced Bank Reconciliation software; this role will be responsible for completing bank reconciliations using this system, improving the control environment and liaising with other departments to ensure the information provided to finance is timely & of sufficient quality.
Duties
• Day to day input of bank statements, import of financial transactions and reconciliation of these transactions.
• Working with the Management Accountants team to develop an effective schedule to reconcile all accounts on a regular & timely basis.
• Following up issues & queries with relevant departments & work with those departments to improve processes.
• Querying external payers to clarify bank receipts.
• As processes improve, taking on additional reconciliations such as our foreign bank accounts.
• Liaise with external auditors as necessary and prepare schedules for year-end audit.
• Additional, ad hoc, duties within the Management Accounts team as appropriate.
Person Specification
• Significant experience of working in a finance environment.
• Experience of reconciling several complex bank accounts concurrently.
• Previous knowledge of Microsoft GP and in particular the Advanced Bank Reconciliation module is highly desirable.
• A self-starter who is able to work without supervision.
• Good communication skills & the ability to fit into a team environment.
• Knowledge & experience of using Excel to support day to day work.
• Experience of improving systems and controls through day to day work.
• Experience of charitable sector (desirable but not essential).
• Commitment to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust
• Knowledge & experience of using CRM databases (desirable but not essential).
