An Onboarding Checklist for Managers

The onboarding checklist presents suggested action items for introducing a new staff member to their role and the institution.

Before the 1st Day
Scheduling
Date Completed / ActionSend an informal email welcoming the employee to Williams. Make sure the new hire knows where and when to report and who they should speak to on arriving.
Understand their new employee orientation schedule.
Schedule meetings with key people who will help to orient the employee to their new position.
Ask for a volunteer to act as a buddy for the new employee.

IMPORTANT! Schedule a technology orientation on the employee’s first day with Desktop Systems.
