Role purpose:

Coordinate all marketing and media opportunities to raise the public profile of Winston’s Wish to support the ambitious 5-year plan.

Main responsibilities:

  • Write creative and engaging copy for a wide range of purposes including web, editorial, emails, PR and printed collateral.
  • Use e-marketing software to produce and send email communications that are appropriately segmented and adhere to data protection rules.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Communications Manager to ensure the website is updated.
  • Proof read materials and ensure the WW brand is adhered to.
  • Work alongside fundraising teams to develop marketing campaigns that maximise income generation opportunities.
  • Liaise with the press and media, taking direction and working alongside the Head of Communications and Marketing.
  • Write, coordinate and issue media releases and briefings alongside the Head of Communications and Marketing.
  • Deputise all media handling in the Head of Communications and Marketing’s absence.
  • Plan and implement marketing campaigns, with agreed objectives.
  • Work alongside the Digital Marketing Communications Manager to deliver effective PPC campaigns.
  • Conduct a monthly audit of PPC campaigns.
  • Work with freelance designer to create Winston’s Wish collateral, and conference display material.
  • Prepare, co-ordinate and manage all collateral.
  • Manage the booking in and out of all marketing material.
  • Source and manage case studies / real life stories.
  • Oversee the production of the annual impact report.
  • Produce monthly reports on media and website statistics, in line with KPIs.
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects, as deemed appropriate by theHead of Communications and Marketing.

Person specification

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
  • Proven previous press and PR experience, including case study management.
  • Experience of website CMS, preferably Word Press.
  • Experience of successfully seeking and securing appropriate marketing opportunities for a variety of products and services.
  • Experience of CRM data segmentation.
  • Experience of developing successful income generating marketing campaigns.
  • Experience of planning, developing and delivering successful marketing and PR campaigns.
  • Significant experience of working with email marketing software, preferably MailChimp.
  • An understanding of the laws relating to marketing and data protection.
  • Experience of adhering to brand guidelines in order to design and develop imagery and collateral for external use.
  • Experience of advising colleagues on use of brand guidelines.
  • Experience of planning, producing and delivering organisational literature.
  • Understanding of relevant data protection laws, current and forthcoming e.g. PECR 2014 and GDPR.
  • Strong organisation administrative/prioritising skills.
  • Passion for a job well done.

  • Excellent proof reading skills and an eye for detail.
  • A high degree of skill and a keen interest in marketing.

Desirable:

  • A degree in Marketing or a CIM qualification.
