How clean is our daily water really?
The quality of the drinking water, which is massively advertised, bears no close and critical examination; globalization and other inevitable factual constraints make adequate consumer protection impossible.
Official institutions praise the excellent quality of German drinking water, “the best-controlled good”, in large-scale advertising campaigns.
It is reasonable that water suppliers massively advertise their product but can we take the statements of the advertising industry seriously? Even the assumption that so called “public utilities” are municipal or state-run companies, which you can trust as profit-oriented commercial enterprises of the free market, is deceiving: For years now increasing national debt has been forcing the state to privatize one enterprise after the other.
Privatisation of water supply
By now almost every water supply company has been sold to privately operated companies – in most cases to major, foreign corporations and banking consortiums. The food scandals of recent years show that we cannot fully trust in consumer protection in times of globalisation which inevitably undermines state sovereignty. There is hardly a week without any new alarming news about contaminates in food and drinking water.
But that’s not all:
Environmentalists have long been complaining that threshold values for pollutants and contaminants in drinking water are set arbitrarily and most of the time much too high. And, an increasing number of water supply works pass these limits and can then – if they do not want to stop the water supply completely – continue their work by obtaining exceptional permissions which allow them to exceed specific threshold values permanently.
Doubtful threshold values
Furthermore, the individual maximum values for harmful substances always apply for only one isolated substance. However, toxicologists have been warning for decades of the so called summation and exponentiation effect. It emerges because drinking water and food contain a whole mixture of different substances, which, in combination, can be much more toxic than the individual substances alone. Drinking insufficiently purified water might have harmful effects even if the values of the substances contained, measured individually, lie well below the threshold values.
For instance it is a little-known fact that through humic acid or iodine – both substances which are considered as relatively harmless – the human body assimilates the nitrate that is also present in water, many times stronger than it would without these substances. Thus water with a relatively low nitrate content and therefore classified as absolutely innocuous can, combined with humic acid or iodine, cause a nitrate poisoning.
“Hygenised consumable water”
To make matters worse for consumers, governments have decided in recent years that standard examinations of drinking water nowadays measure a mere 20 substances instead of the more than 40 parameters that used to be measured. This happened despite the fact that, in Germany alone, more than 300 different cancer-causing substances are permitted as pesticides which are scattered in thousands of tons over our fields and end up either directly in our food, or sooner or later through the groundwater even in our drinking water. After all the fact that a few years ago, as a result of a trial at the administrative appeals tribunal in Münster, Germany, officials declared that the approriate term for our tap water was not “drinking water” anymore but rather “hygenised consumable water”, should make us contemplate! Who would still want to drink the tap water labelled with such an unflattering term? This might well be the reason for the intinsive advertising campaigns conducted by water supply companies.
Water, an elixir of life
„ Water makes all things alive “
This inscription is indicated on many existing sources of water in the Orient. Water is more than a commodity or a thirst-quenching resource – much more. In the rainy North of Europe, where it is taken for granted that water bubbles out of the faucet, we are quick to forget that water is first and foremost an elixir of life. Without water there can’t be any life, aliveness or freshness.
Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to observe, in the barren deserts of Africa or in the Orient, how, after a rainfall, the blades of grass rise and whole landscapes change their colour, is enthused. And those who ever experienced serious thirst – maybe during a mountain hike or in an emergency situation – know how great the vital energy is that water provides. Suddenly all our senses become alert again, new optimism emerges and the mind becomes clear and fresh.
Water is more than H2O
Chemists see water simply as a molecular fusion of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Thus a drop of water is not more than a more or less loose aggregation of 100, 200 or even a 1000 single water molecules. Those who consider water only from a quantitative point of view will not find an answer to the question why water can be such a blessing and will neither be able to understand why water can vary so much in its quality – even if the shares of minerals contained in the water are equivalent.
The internal structure of water
The modern water research shows evermore clear that the quality of water depends above all on the structure according to which individual atoms and molecules connect in constantly new ways. These clusters can be harmonic, fine and sophisticated as in spring waters in the mountains, or unshapely compressed as in most of the tap waters. Those waters have lost much of their inner structure and thus of their power as an elixir of life through the water treatment processes and the conduit pressure. This might be the main reason why many of us have the feeling that tap water just “does not taste good anymore”.
Which water do we want to drink – seven days a week?
Alternative and orthodox medical practitioners surprisingly agree on this topic: The human body needs about 2 liters clear water a day. And this water should be of prime quality. Coffee, tea, fruit juices or sugary soft drinks are no alternative at all. In contrast, some of those beverages even stimulate the dehydration of the human body. (Just think of the famous afterthirst following a joyful evening). We can choose between costly bottled water - which means carrying beverage crates from and to the drink cash-and-carry once a week – and the installation of a “source of fresh water” on the water faucet at home.

Why VitaVortex instead of expensive bottled water?
On average, every German consumes about 260 liters of bottled water a year. But there are alternatives.
Very few German consumers rely on the quality of our tap water. This is why the German consumption of bottled water is increasing drastically. This is astonishing, considering the fact that German tap water comes off quite well by international comparison.
But also the quality of bottled water is extremely controversial.
Stricter threshold values for drinking water than for bottled water
Critical analyses of independent institutes consistently show that switching to bottled table water is not necessarily the best alternative to tap water. In Germany, laws require tap water to observe stricter threshold values than bottled table water. In view of this fact it is no wonder that, a few years ago, a journal on environmental research declared succinct, after an eximaination of more than 100 types of mineral water, that more than half of the different brands of water sold in drinks cash and carries were simply of such a bad quality that they even exceed the threshold values valid for tap water!
Even the note, placed on the lable, that says: “Suitable for baby foods” is no guarantee for good quality because it is not bound to any legal regulations at all. Any bottler of water can affix such a note – and thus obtain decisive competitve advantages – without having to make sure that the water is of extremely high quality.
For example mineral water, alledgedly suitable for the preparation of baby foods, should contain maximal 50 mg nitrate per liter, however, even relatively uncritic orthodox medical practitioners recommend a maximum threshold value of 5 mg nitrate per liter for babies!
Plastic bottles – extremely questionable
Especially plastic bottles (PET), which have become very fashionable in recent years, are considered extremely questionable among scientists. It is an inevitable fact that small amounts of the plastic are solved and therefore retained in the water – often the water even tastes of plastic. Hence, we can cnfidently drink tap water, the quality is not worse than the quality of bottled water, but it is definitely cheaper.
Water is an elixir of life and fulfills several functions in the human body.
Most importantly it acts as the body’s own “waste disposal”. Water dissolves metabolic degradation products and makes them “excretable”. The finer and cleaner the water that we drink is, the easier this process can take place and the more effective it is.
Does the human body need additional minerals?
The more water that we drink which is already loaded with minerals and other substances, the less other substances it can absorb and thus rid our body of. Our body does not need mineral water, it needs clear water. The human body receives about 95 percent of the minerals it needs in form of organically bound substances in food.
The minerals contained in water are almost completely useless and can even have negative effects on the cleansing and detoxification processes taking place in the human body. Don’t believe everything that the one or the other supplier of mineral water tries to make you believe with his product advertising. Some of the statements are more conducive to stock prices than to the customers’ health – not to mention environment.

04 Water a paradox
Water - a paradox
Water is the element of mother Earth - and it creates, in a mysterious way, a balance of energies.
Water is paradoxical
On the one hand it reacts extremely sensitively to the smallest change of its surrounding parameters like temperature, air pressure etc. with a change of its flow behaviour or its solution capacity. Even the daytime , lunar phases and the constellation of planets have a measurable impact on its behavioural pattern. Sensitive people can sense and taste these changes and, by now, science can also verify these subtle changes.
But on the other hand water remains almost stoically calm when it is put under stress. Under extreme conditions it changes its properties only minimally. Not only has it an enormous heat capacity - which simply implies that water can “absorb” large quantities of heat without overheating - but it can also withstand astronomically high pressures without being compressed considerably. Furthermore it can absorb large quantities of acid-forming substances without its pH value notably decreasing. It “absorbs” magnetic fields, electric energy, nuclear radiation and the like very effectively. In short: Water soothes extremes.
Water provides an equilibrium
It seems as if water, in a mysterious way, tries to keep its material parameter stable, virtually to provide an inner equilibrium to the environment. I reacts to its environment just like a living organism but it cannot be overwhelmed by the changes of the environment. Water is the instance that does not only make life possible, but also keeps it at equilibrium in a powerful but at the same time highly sensitive way. This is true for macro - and microcosms as well as for the human body. After a shock the best thing to do is to drink some water. Water recreates our inner balance.
The formula H2O reveals:
Water is one of the simplest chemical compounds that exist. Yet still there is nothing more complicated than water.
Water breaks every law
In all chemical and physical properties that have been studied scientifically water differs from other substances. And with almost every experiment scientists conduct, the number of its anomalies - its unexplainable or barely explainable properties - increases.
It seems as if water tries to reduce natural science to absurdity. Interestingly it is exactly this exceptional pattern that makes water absolutely vital for the life on our planet.
Water has a great capacity to store thermal energy. Water in soil and air stores the heat radiated by the sun and then releases it again. If water could not absorb such large amounts of heat, the climate on earth would be exposed to extreme variations in temperature. Changes in temperature of more than 50° Celsius would occur between day and night alone. It would be icy during the night and burning hot like in the deserts during the day. Animals and plants wouldn’t be able to get a cooling from the scorching heat even by the evaporation of water through skin and leaves.
Even the common fact that ice swims on water is actually a complete paradox. Among all other natural substances the solid is denser and thus heavier than the liquid phase. This leads to the conclusion that water should actually congeal from the bottom up. Since this is not the case and the ice layer growing on the surface protects the lake from cold air, a sufficient amount of water below the ice layer remains liquid in winter and enables aquatic animals and plants to survive.
In the case of water the exception is the rule!
05 Water in connection with metabolism
Water is quantitatively the largest and the most important component of our body.
It plays a key role in all metabolic reactions within the human body because it keeps the substances contained in our cells, our blood and our lymph in solution and thus makes them reactive (hydrolysis).
If the amount of water in our body is to small, or the water quality is bad (i.e. the water is extremely “clustered”or “bound”), metabolic processes might be slowed down, become incomplete or faulty.
