THIS TERM’S SCHOOL VALUES ARE TO SPOT OUR CHILDREN WHO ARE:

Please remember to bring in both the Sainsburys Active kids vouchers and the Cash for schools token from the Newspaper …. The countdown is on ..

In Apple class we have been very worried that the birds outside our room had no food in their feeders. After a lot of discussion we decided to tackle the problem by making them some bird seed cakes. This fitted in really well wth our non–fiction writing unit of Instructional writing.

As well as actually making the bird cakes we went on to produce a set of instructions that anybody in the school could use if they want to try it at home. The instructions are easy to read and follow because we made sure we used simple clear commands, a list of what you will need and some tips to make it even easier to do. Asad’s instructions are available in the office if you would like to try to do this at home.

We love writing in Apple and love to share our work with you. Come down and see our work if you would like to. Happy Feeding!

Notice

Can you please bring in/donate any cakes, biscuits next Wednesday and Thursday to help support our school council set up their tuck shop.

They will be selling the cakes/biscuits on Thursday 11th February at 3.15pm in the school hall.

All funds raised will be used to purchase snacks for the children to buy during break times.

All lunchboxes must be bought in the morning with the child. Only on the odd occasion when lunch boxes are genuinely forgotten will they be accepted by the office. We are having increasing numbers of parents dropping in lunchboxes throughout the morning which is very disruptive to the school, Thankyou for your co-operation.

From the Head’s Chair

Dear Parents/Carers

We are always moving forward at Riverside Primary School. Over the February half term we are having the corridor outside our FS2 (Reception) classes decorated. We are also knocking a doorway between the two FS2 classrooms in order to create more space and allow the children access to resources and play areas in both classrooms.

Furthermore, we are planning a fantastic new soft play area outside the FS2 classrooms. This will have a climbing frame with slide, a track area for bikes and a sandbox. There will be a fence to separate the soft play area from the grassed area. This will help keep mud out during the winter months and allow the children to play on the grass during the summer months.

We are also planning other improvements which I will inform you of in the subsequent months.

Have a lovely weekend 
