ProjectManagement.com Article Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in submitting content to ProjectManagement.com! We appreciate the involvement of our members. The interactive nature of our membership is what makes ProjectManagement.com a community, and it's what sets us apart from other project management websites. These guidelines are meant as just that and may be modified at any time. We want to work with you to make sure that your contributions to ProjectManagement.com are valuable to you as well as to our community of project professionals.

1.  Topics
The operative word when writing for ProjectManagement.com is "practical." Our philosophy is to provide useful, relative information to project professionals. Lessons learned, advice on using software tools more efficiently or challenges overcome are all good topics. Please do not submit press releases, promotional material or product reviews. If you are interested in advertising on ProjectManagement.com, you should contact . If you aren't sure if your article fits in with our purpose, please send us a quick abstract outlining the theme of the article and why it will be useful to our members. Use the proposal buttons on this page: http://www.projectmanagement.com/pages/192846/Contribute-Content-to-ProjectManagement-com.

2.  Article Length
Articles should be at least 750 words and roughly no more than 1,500 words. Some longer submissions may be considered. Longer articles will most likely be considered White Papers or may be divided into multiple installments (please consider this when submitting).

3.  White Papers and Knowledge Shelf

White Papers will be archived under the appropriate section, but will not appear on the front page of ProjectManagement.com; however, they may be visible under the appropriate practice area for ease of access.

Authors can also consider the Knowledge Shelf section for publication. The mission of Knowledge Shelf is to help project professionals advance our practice by sharing their experiences and viewpoints. It is comprised of practitioners from a wide range of fields, covering both popular and niche topics. From lessons learned and case studies to opinion pieces and articles, this platform gives a voice to peers new to our online community, and allows for longer form contributions. For more information on how to submit your own article, please see its Editorial Guidelines.

Do not submit the same article to both places; they can only be considered for single publication.

4.  Article Format
Please submit articles as an MS Word document, preferably in Arial, 10 pt. Include a suggested headline and a short summary of the article (a few sentences) that can serve as a synopsis. Do not use tabs, underlines or ALL CAPS. Keep formatting to a minimum (the less the better). Any graphic elements should be embedded in the document. Clever and witty titles are welcome, and we reserve the right to modify your headlines, subheads and summaries to match ProjectManagement.com's style. We will get final approval from the author before publishing anything on our site that requires substantive edits. All submissions (except Knowledge Shelf submissions) should be sent to or a Community Engagement Specialist.

5.  Editorial Rights
The editorial staff at ProjectManagement.com reserves the right to edit for length, clarity or readability any articles submitted for publication. The author will be contacted with any major changes, and ProjectManagement.com will not publish any article without the author's final approval in this case. Minor corrections are not run by the author.

6.  Publication Decisions
The editorial staff at ProjectManagement.com will make the final decision on when and where any articles will be published. Submission is not a guarantee of publication. As a courtesy, ProjectManagement.com will notify the author of the publication date and location of the article on the site.
