The term Grammatical Target is used throughout the Teacher’s Guide. (see Index pg. T118 “Conventions” and pg. T119 “Front Loading Conventions” and “Grammar”
When asking students to brainstorm ideas, we often want them to use a preposition to begin their idea (& other grammatical elements). We explicitly point this out. If necessary we provide a list of adjectives & model 1-2 responses.
