POSITION: Technology Intern (Seasonal)

JOB DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Golf Association, located in Elmsford, N.Y., is seeking a Communications TechnologyIntern to contribute to all areas of communications for a six-month period (March through August). This is a prime opportunity to work closely with communications professionals and gain valuable experience in the fields of media relations, Web site operations, print and digital publishing, and tournament administration. He/she must possess the following qualities:

  • Strong planning and communications skills
  • Reasonable proficiency with Microsoft Office products, desktop publishing programs, website technology, social media platforms, and database management
  • Familiarity with multi-media equipment such as tablets and smartphones, computers, SLR cameras, video cameras, and scanners
  • Working knowledge and interest in golf

The person will be part of the MGA’s four-person Communications department, and is expected to work in close collaboration with colleagues, in office and on site at championships and qualifying rounds at clubs throughout the Metropolitan Area.The position’s primary dutiesinclude:

  • Assistance with regular maintenance of new MGA signed Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and CRM database.
  • Compiling daily tournament results.
  • Regular maintenance of MGA website, including, stories, video and photo galleries
  • Assist with MGA Live Scoring operations at MGA championships
  • Assist with all areas of tournament preparation, including preparation of press releases, media guides, scorecards, signage etc.

The position will require a car and travel within the Metropolitan Area, as necessary

COMPENSATION:Monthly stipend and mileage reimbursement for all travel
