Dear Valued AlarmNet Central Station,

Due to notification received from Velocita Wireless (wireless backbone provider of Honeywell’s AlarmNet-M network service), we regret to inform you of a near immediate and significant decrease in network coverage that will affect your account base. Your immediate action is required.

Honeywell AlarmNet very recently received correspondence from Velocita which details their immediate plan to de-commission a portion of their network This plan willaffect about a quarter of its service area. Honeywell has taken immediate action and prepared the following enclosed information to help you expedite accounts that will need to be addressed.

Identification of your affected Accounts.

  • Protected Premises - The accounts are broken down as being either
  • UL-AA
  • General
  • Central Station - If you have central station wireless connectivity to AlarmNet, then we also include those radios separately

Challenge

CurrentlyHoneywell can provide an Internet-only based High Security solution to replace the potentially affected UL-AA installations. We realize that in some installations it may not be feasible for Internet technology to be used to replace a radio-based UL-AA installation. Honeywell is prepared to offer the following:

For affected High Security Radio Installations

  • Immediately - Free Internet communicator – 7845I-ENT
  • Future (4 to 5 months)- Free GSM UL High Security radio when it becomes available

Foraffected General AlarmNet-M Radio Installations

  • Free GSMR radio or
  • Free GSMX radio

For affected Central Station AlarmNet-M Radio Installations, if applicable

  • Free 7810IR-ENT central station IP Receiver

We will support you through this transition and will continue to communicate with Velocita in an attempt to minimize disruption but this cutback in service is unavoidable.

IMPORTANT – DISCONTINUANCE OF SALE OF ALARMNET-M RADIOS

Dear Valued AlarmNet Central Station

There was a recent cutback in Velocita wireless service in the middle of April that reduced coverage in certain areas. Your company would have already been notified earlier and separatelyfrom AlarmNet had you installed accounts that were affected by this recent cutback. Note that if you did not have affected accounts that you were not contacted.

Please be advised however that due to this recent cutback in service from Velocita wireless Honeywell no longer believes it is prudent to continue the sale of its radios that would be purchased for installation on this network.

Therefore effective immediately, Honeywell will no longer sell any radios for attachment to this network.

Velocita has not given us any notice of further coverage cutbacks and AlarmNet will continue to provide full support of its service however Honeywell feels it is prudent to discontinue the sale of radios from this point forward.

In the near future we will be releasing a new GSM-based high security offering that will allow you to upgrade existing high security accounts. Also note that if you have AlarmNet-M installations that are not high security, our GSM solutions today could be used to upgrade those installations.
