Unit 3: Middle Ages Website Assignment
Your task (individually) over the course of the next week is to conduct research on a specific topic relating to Unit 3: Middle Ages. In particular you will focus on The Early Middle Ages, High Middles Ages and Late Middle Ages. You will present your information in the form of a website. You will be provided with a Web Template to put your information, pictures and links. We will be using Microsoft FrontPage.

Day 1: Getting Set Up and Preliminary Research1. Complete a preliminary research of your topic by examining your text. Look in index or chapters for information and write down key words, people or historical events that will aid in searching the internet.2. Login using your “hist” LOGIN. Go to World History to 16th Century Homepage at: and click on “Student Handouts” and click on “Culminating Activity #3: Middle Ages Website Assignment”.

3.Open and examine the “website template” to see what information / criteria are required.

4.To work directly into template, go to FILE and SAVE AS. Save the file in your “hist” login folder and name your file “yourname16web.html”.

5.Open up FRONT PAGE and open the file in your “hist” folder. Create a text file for your works cited list. Every time you use a site, add it to your works cited in proper format! You can now begin!

6. Begin to research and browse the Internet. Summarize information in a text file or directly into the template. Make sure you copy and paste all the websites you use into your works cited list.

7. Find useful pictures, documents, photos and maps that relate to your topic. Include the source of the image directly under the picture as shown on template.8. Add any other innovative and interesting elements about your topic or template that can enhance your website.Day 2-4: Continue Research and Work on Website1. Login using your “hist” LOGIN.2. Open Internet Explorer and Microsoft FrontPage.3. Open your template file in the “hist” folder (yourname16web.html)Day 5 (if required): Finalizing the Website1. Ensure all the required information is on website and all the links are working.

2. Save file (yourname16web.html). All done!

**If you think you are going to take longer than the time allotted make sure that you book into the computer labs at lunch or after school to complete your website by Day 5.
