More Information: / The Performance Management Series is designed to give supervisors and staff training in key performance areas. Supervisors will learn how to manage performance year-round, set realistic and specific performance goals, establish performance expectations, and conduct effective performance evaluations. Staff will learn how to assist with goal setting, complete an Employee Self-Assessment, and prepare for performance discussions. Other topics for supervisors and non-represented staff include the UC Core Competencies and the new performance evaluation form for non-represented staff.

If you need to take PPS Training, first determine your PPS user type(s), and then please visit view which PPS courses are required for your user type(s).
Participants taking PPS classes for the first time, or changing departmental access (e.g., moving from one department to another), will need to submit a "PPS Access Request Form" to Business & Financial Services prior to attending PPS classes. More Information: / SMART Workshops provide training on two intertwined subject areas: 1) legal requirements of applicable contracts, policies and laws; and 2) interpersonal skills and management techniques. As supervisors and managers, you must operate in a complex web of job descriptions; union contracts; local and system-wide university policy; and, of course, state and federal law. You need to know how to hire, train, supervisor, and discipline employees, while helping them to perform and develop.
