April 27: TSTI to Host Shabbat Service and Dinner with Joshua Cohen of New Jersey Regional ADL Office
Public is Invited to Friday Evening Worship Service and Cohen’s Talk, “Imagine a World Without Hate”
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J., April 12, 2018 –Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, the Reform synagogue in South Orange, will host a Shabbat, Scholar and Supper on Friday, April 27. The speaker will be Joshua Cohen, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League’s New Jersey office, who will address the congregation over dinner with the topic, “Imagine a World Without Hate.” The evening service is at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by dinner with Cohen. The service is open to all; dinner is $25 per TSTI member, $36 for non-members with advance registration by Friday, April 20. After that date, the fee is $36 for members and $45 for non-members, pending availability. To register, go to
Cohen, who joined the ADL in 2009, is responsible for the overall planning, direction and administration of all regional office activities, including leadership development, government relations, program deliveryand research to advance ADL’s mission. He also represents ADL in the community, to the media, and to public officials. Prior to joining the New Jersey regional office in 2015, he served as the associate director for ADL’s Philadelphia Regional Office. The Anti-Defamation League is one of the country’s premier civil rights/human relations agencies, dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defending democratic ideals, and protecting civil rights.
