Where the transfer between degree programmes does not extend the overall period of study, College Regulations state that the student will be assessed on the totality of modules studied at the College. However, if the transfer is to commence another degree programme from the beginning, only the modules taken in association with the second degree programme will count towards the requirements for the degree or be considered in the classification of the students’ overall performance, except with the special permission of the Academic Board.

Therefore if you are transferring into the first year of any new programme of study, a ‘T’ (transcriptable) mode of study will be entered against any modules you have taken during the original programme which will have the effect of allowing them to appear on your record but not count towards the number of modules required to be considered for the award of a degree.

6Where the change of programme of study involves a move from one Department/School to another, the signatures of both the current and new Heads of Department/School (or their designated nominee) must be obtained. No amendment to the programme of study will be carried out without both signatures.

Where the change of programme of study is within the same Department/School, only the signature of the Head of Department/School (or their designated nominee) is required.
