1. Want to close several programs at once?
Simply right-click your mouse on an empty area of the task bar. When the menu window pops up, click on Minimize All Windows. That minimizes all your windows at one time.
2. Want to go to Windows Explorer in a jiffy?
Right click the start button, Click on explores.
3. Tips for faster internet browsing
· Be sure you’re using the latest version of your browser software.
· Buy a faster modem.
· Try to browse during off-peak hours, when traffic on the Internet is likely to be light.
· Turn off sound and images in your browser.
· If a page still seems to be loading too slowly, click the Stop button on your browser’s toolbar to cancel the page, and click the Reload button.
4. Want to clear the document list in your Start Button-Documents menu?
Click on start
Point to Settings
Click on taskbar and start menu programmer
Click on Start menu programmer tab
Click on clear
5. How do you apply a password to a file?
Open the file.
Go to the File menu.
Click on “Save As”.
Click on Options on windows 95/ Click on tools and general options if it is windows98
Give the password to open and modify
Reconfirm the password to open and modify
Click on ok and save.
6. Removing the password to a file
Open the file
Go to file
Click on save as
Click on Options on windows 95/ Click on tools and general options if it is windows98
Delete the password to open and modify
Click on ok and save.
7. I have just finished applying extensive formatting on a part of my document in MS-Word. I want to apply the same to many other parts of the document. How do I do that?
Select the existing formatted text.
Click on the format painter icon (looks like a paint brush…next to the Paste icon normally) on the standard toolbar.
Select the other text to format.
In case you want to apply the same format to multiple texts, double-click on the format painter icon and then apply it on the other texts.
When you are done, press Esc to come out of the Format Painter mode.
8. How do I change the number of recently used files list on the file menu
Go to the Tools Menu.
Click on options
Click on General Tab
Increase the number in the recently used file list.
9. When I am working on a Bulleted or a Numbered list, how do I prevent the next number from appearing when I press Enter to move to the next line?
Press Shift and press Enter to prevent the numbers and bullets from appearing in the next line.
10. How do you create letterheads in word?
Open a blank new document, Go to view
Click on header and footer
Enter the Name of the company and other details in the header.
Click on the icon “Switch between header and footer” or scroll down to move the footer.
Enter the necessary details in the footer.
Click on close button on the header and footer bar.
11.How can I increase the default number of sheets in a workbook in MS-Excel?
Go to Tools
Click on Options
Click on General
Change the number of sheets in new workbook.
12. How do I go to the end of the worksheet in MS-Excel by using the keyboard?
Press Ctrl + down arrow.
