GONZALES – Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez announced today several roads in Ascension Parish are currently closed due to water on the road way.
Roads that are completely CLOSED as of 1 PM Wednesday:
- Mercury Drive in Darrow
- Astroland Subdivision in Darrow
- Pluto Drive in Darrow
- 3rd Street from Clay Street to Mississippi Street in Donaldsonville
- W. 4th Street and Catalpa Street in Donaldsonville
- W. 9th Street and Catalpa Street in Donaldsonville
- Nicholls from Chetimatches to Railroad Crossing in Donaldsonville
- Thibaut Drive at Clay Street in Donaldsonville
- Church/Opelousas in Donaldsonville
- Church from Mississippi to Clay in Donaldsonville
- Railroad Avenue at City Hall in Donaldsonville
- Underpass at St. Patrick Street and Front Street in Donaldsonville
- Crescent Place Subdivision in Donaldsonville
- Cy Bean Bridge at Hwy. 308 in Donaldsonville
- Evangeline from Memorial to Hwy. 308 in Donaldsonville
- St. Patrick Street between Mississippi Street and Charles Street in Donaldsonville
- St. Patrick Street between 2nd Street and 6th Street in Donaldsonville
- Market Street
- Lessard Street between Mississippi Street and Nicholls Street
- Hwy. 308 at the underpass in Donaldsonville
- Mississippi Street between St. Vincent Street and Church Street in Donaldsonville
- Church Street at Opelousas Street in Donaldsonville
- Church Street from Mississippi Street to Clay Street in Donaldsonville
- Hwy. 3089 at Whitney Bank in Donaldsonville
- Hwy. 44 at the Post Office in Gonzales
- Burnside Avenue from Jeansonne to Rome Street in Gonzales
- Hodgeson Street and Clouatre Road in St. Amant
- Melancon Road between Hwy. 22 and Pertuis Road in Sorrento
- Hackberry Street at Poplar Street in Sorrento
Roads with high water that are passable:
- Ashland Road from Hwy. 75 to Railroad Crossing (one lane) in Geismar
- Neptune Drive in Darrow
- Burnside Avenue at E. Neal Street in Gonzales
- W. Orice Roth Road at S. Ringer Avenue in Gonzales
- Ernest Floyd Road
- Hwy. 44 (River Road) at Burnside Terminal in the curve, one lane travel
Sand and bags are also available at these locations:
- Sorrento Town Hall – limited quantity of sand, bring your own shovel
- Lamar-Dixon Expo Center Barn 7– pre-bagged sand bags
- Frank Sotile Pavilion in Donaldsonville
- Gonzales City Maintenance Barn – pre-bagged sand bags for Gonzales residents
Sand and Bags have been delivered at the following locations:
- 5th Ward Fire Department in Darrow
- Prairieville Fire Department on Hwy. 73
****Please bring your own shovels, trucks and be prepared to bag your own sand bags
