Equity Research provides the financial and strategic advice necessary for successful asset management. The group is dedicated to providing insightful analysis of global stock markets and companies.
The summer internship programme
The Barclays Summer Internship Programme is designed to provide our summer interns with broad exposure to the businesses. This 10-week intensive programme consists of real and practical work assignments that allow you to participate and contribute to real meetings and research projects. We also emphasize on balancing work through a variety of corporate events and social community events that enable you to build a vital network of colleagues and friends. The goal of the summer program is to provide a solid baseand experience in Equity Research, and an opportunity to confirm your career aspirations.
Interns will have the opportunity to analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of the senior analyst. You will maintain financial models and industry databases insuring correct and up-to-date information for research reports that are distributed to sales force and internal clients and will develop new models as needed. You will also review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings and other sources in order to gather, synthesize and interpret data on companies followed by the senior analyst.

What does Barclays look for in a Summer intern?
- Genuine interests in financial markets
- Fluency in English, additional Asia Pacific language skills preferred
- Strong verbal, quantitative and analytical skills
- Proven good leadership, high ethical standards, good problem solving abilities
- Resourcefulness, team orientation, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree for Associate
