Ch. 4
- Stanley sees barren, desolate land, a few rundown buildings and a cabin and two trees
 - He quit smoking so he ate sunflower seeds
 - He is to call him Mr. Sir
 - He is to dig a 5 foot by 5 foot hole
 - Stanley begins his day by starting at 4:30AM in order to avoid the hottest part of the day
 - He uses it to shoot yellow spotted lizards
 - Anyone who runs away would die without water due to the heat
 
Ch. 5
- He is told to worry about the Warden
 - He figures everyone says that they are innocent; he doesn’t was to seem like he has a bad attitude
 - He only uses the names that society recognizes

 - He is to carry Madame Zeroni to the tip of the mountain, let her drink and sing to her
