Job Summary

You will be an experienced public relations professional. Experience of workingin the voluntary and/or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
Working within the philosophies, objectives, policies and procedures of the Hospices your key responsibility will be to manage public relations for the Hospices toenhance the reputation of the charity in order to increase brand engagement and support income generation.
The role will support the day to day activities within the marketing and communications department and will encompass all aspects of public relations, taking the lead on press/media relations and liaising across all departments at all levels, as well as with external agencies and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

  • planning, developing and implementing PR activities that support the delivery of the marketing and communications strategy
  • stakeholder management and engagement
  • working with and liaising withcolleagues and key spokespeople
  • liaising with, and being the main point of initial contact from media, individuals and other organisations
  • researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
  • collating and analysing media coverage and providing regular reports to the executive team
  • writing and editing in-house and external newsletters and supporting e-campaigns as required
  • Support the production of the charity’s collateral and be a brand custodian
  • Take the lead in the production of promotional films and photography and managing the image and media libraries
  • PR event management, which will include managing photo and interview opportunities
  • case study development and management [within the strict confidentiality policies of the Hospices]
  • keeping the website current and up to date
  • utilising digital media to support PR campaigns
  • other communications activities as required

The contractual relationship between the Hospice and its employees is founded on trust. Employees will treat as confidential all information regarding the business of the Hospice, information with regard to and agreements with suppliers, and information gained about other employees and consultants.
