Stepping Stones Nigeria – Advocacy Intern

Stepping Stones Nigeria is a UK based international NGO dedicated to supporting the rights of vulnerable and disadvantaged children such as the so-called child ‘witches’ and ‘wizards’ of the Niger Delta. SSN is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to assist primarily with advocacy tasks in our Lancaster office.

Working alongside the Advocacy Officer and Programme Director you will be involved in assisting with the distribution of a ‘Nollywood’ film to counter the belief in child witchcraft. Your work will include researching and communicating with key film distributors from a number of different countries; organising film premieres; researching the legal aspects of film distribution and designing publicity materials. In addition to this you will be assisting the Advocacy Officer with administrative tasks in the Stepping Stones Nigeria office. The internship is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an interest in media and the charity sector, to obtain valuable experience of working for a small, dynamic charity and developing knowledge and experience of the film industry.

Candidates should be able to commit 3 days per week, for an initial period of three months. This is an unpaid position but we will reimburse lunch and travel expenses.
