The following describes how to set up your Windows XP machine to dial into Message Express and establish a dial-in connection.
Dial-Up Networking Configuration
First you will need to start the Internet Connection Wizard.
Click on Start.
Click on Control Panel
Click on Network and Internet Connections
Click on Set up or change your Internet connection
Click the Setup button
This will start the Internet Connection Wizard.
1. Click <Next> button.
2. Click “Connect to the Internet” and click the <Next> button.
3. Click “Set up my connection manually”, then click the <Next> button.
4. Click “Connect using a dial-up modem” and click the <Next> button.
5. In the “ISP Name” box will be the name for your connection. Type in Message Express, then click the <Next> button.
6. Your access number is listed on the first page of this instruction manual. Enter your local access number. Click the <Next> button.
7. Enter your username, password, and password again in the blanks provided. Click the <Next> button.
8. The Connection Wizard is complete, click the <Finish> button.
9. Click on the Start button, then Internet Explorer to begin surfing the Web.
Instructions for setting up e-mail (Outlook Express)
Step 1: Open up Internet Explorer
Step 2: Click on the Mail button, Select Read Mail
(opens Outlook Express).
Step 3: Select Accounts from the drop down Tools menu
Step 4: Click on the Mail tab
Step 5: Click once on the Account to highlight and click on the
<Properties> Button. (If there is no “Account” existing
then click on the <Add> Button and select Mail.
Step 6: Click on the General tab
Enter the following:
Name: Your Name (e.g. John Smith)
Email Address:
Reply Address:
Step 7: Click on the Server tab
Enter the following:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): mei.net
Incoming Mail (POP3): mei.net
Account Name: user_name
Password: password
Step 8: Click on <Ok>
Click on <Close>
Click on <Send and Receive>
Refund Policy
Choosing to end your service prior to the paid through date will result in the following method of determining a refund:
Amount Paid - ( (Monthly Price * Number of Full Months Used) + (Number of Days Used In Partial Month * Monthly Price / 30) ) = Refund Amount
E.g. If you paid $79.95 for 1 year, and cancel after 6.5 months and the current monthly price is $9.95:
$79.95 - ( (9.95 * 6) + (15 * $9.95 / 30) ) = $15.28
