The purpose of is to support the mission of the Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands, Nonprofit. Web space is provided to RegisteredCoordinators. Use of web space provided on is guided by our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and strictly enforced. Print an extra copy for yourself for future reference.
The following terms and conditions of this agreement are intended to be mutually beneficial to protect you, the Donauschwaben Village Helping Hands Nonprofit / DVHH.org, and contributors to your village pages.
Please read the following carefully:
1 The dvhh.org mission is to collect and provide historical and genealogical information focused on the former Danube Swabian villages situated in the six Donauschwaben regions of what was until 1918 the Austro-Hungarian Empire: 1. Banat, 2. Batschka, 3. Syrmia - Slavonia, 4. Swabian Turkey, 5. Hungarian Highlands, and 6. Sathmar.
2Contents of your web pages must be aligned with the goals and policies of the DVHH project, which are subject to change. As a volunteer and a recipient of free-to-you village web space, we hope that you will always cooperate in supporting any direction the DVHH Administration proposes for further development of the DVHH project. Our purpose of providing free village sites is intended to compliment the DVHH main pages and not to compete with its contents.
3DVHH can best accomplish its mission with the resources available, if information relating to a village is published on the village website, while information specific to the six regions is published on the DVHH main pages. All Village Coordinators are therefore requested to forward information specific to the six regions to the DVHH Editorial Committee for publication on the DVHH main pages. Full credits will be given for all contributed material published on the DVHH.org and your important contributions will become a permanent part of the DVHH archives to serve all Danube Swabian researchers.
4If a village coordinator wishes to duplicate information contributed to the DVHH main pages on a village site, he/she is requested to discuss the issue with members of the DVHH Publication prior to, to ensure efficient use of web space and bandwidth.
5You are agreeing that in the event that you cease to be active within the DVHH project (for reasons such as scheduling conflict, lack of time, loss of interest, health, death, or other circumstance out of your control) the contents of your village site will automatically become a permanent part of the DVHH archives, and you are granting a perpetual license to to display the contents on the web site and to use it in any published media, provided that the contributor receives proper credit for the contribution.
6The above excludes personal or family data contributed by village researchers. You must request and receive authorization from each researcher to publish data they submit to you before you publish it on a DVHH hosted site.This protects you and the DVHH. In addition to this authorization, please notify each researcher that in the event that you are unable to continue as the village coordinator, their data will remain online only unless they request otherwise.
7Content not relating directly to the “village” or to the DVHH is prohibited.
8Please do not store "unpublished" dataand images in your village web folder (that you have on your computer), because when you publish to the dvhh site, these items are still sitting on the dvhh server.
9Content, which compromises the security of DVHH.org, will be removed immediately without advance notice. Examples of dangerous content include: CGI or other scripts which allow visitors access to areas of the web site which they would not otherwise have.
10Commercial content, including advertising, pop-up ads, and banner advertisements is prohibited.
11Adult content, abusive language and pornography are absolutely prohibited.
12Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands Nonprofit (DVHH.org), its registrar, and webmaster/publisher will not be held liable for any damages resulting directly or indirectly from content on your village pages.
13The DVHH Administration reserves the right to periodically review the contents of your village site to ensure that it supports the mission of the DVHH. In the event of an issue or a violation, we will make every attempt to resolve the matter with you.Access to your village web space may be revoked at any time without notice.
14Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands Nonprofit (DVHH.org), its registrar, and webmaster/publisherdoes not back up your site(s), nor will they be held responsible for the loss of your data. Backups are the responsibility of each Village Coordinator.
15The supporting services are provided free of charge and provide no warranty, expressed or implied.
16Each village web site must contain as its main page a file named “index.html”
