  1. Q&A with B&A CCG Clinical Chair
/ There are two relationships that SPGs have, firstly with NHS England which are the drivers for Patient Groups. The second is with the Clinical Commissioning Group which aims to have greater patients help in the commissioning of health and care. This is because patients know what works and what does not work.
Difficulties raised my members:
What should a patient group be surveying about?
Find it difficult to reach everyone? (wider patient voice outside of SPG)
Reluctance to use social media
Difficult reaching youngsters and young adults
Asked for lots of information
What does the CCG want from SPGs?
Possible solutions discussed:
Need more notice / awareness of forward work plan to be able to bring wider patient voice.
Need to be more skilled.
Need a combination of representation.
Local residence magazines help promote involvement / completion of surveys.
CCG Survey tool offered for surveys (Health Connect).
  1. Extended Hours GP Service
/ Start date: 1st December 2015
Duration: 12 months
Location: Boundary House Surgery
Hours: Monday to Friday - 18.30 to 20.30, Saturday – 08.00 to 14.00
Access to the service is through a patient’s own GP surgery, patients should be made aware of the service if their own GP is unable to offer them a convenient appointment time.
A script for receptionist was presented and commented on.
Signage to Boundary House was questioned. Post meeting note: This was checked. Boundary House is signposted from Church Road and the surgery is clearly signed on approach.
Berkshire Primary Care is staffed by local GPs and they have access to patient’s medical records. Within 24 hours the patient’s own practice will have an up to date record of the visit.

Share Your Care
Share your care is a technology project that will enable the sharing of medical records with providers of care across Berkshire. This is not care.data.“Care.data is a programme of work led by NHS England and the Health and Social Care Information Centre which will bring together health and social care information from different settings in order to see what's working really well in the NHS – and what we could be doing better.”
Share your care is currently going to tender and the CCG is looking for 2 representatives to be part of the bidding process, will need to be able to commit for at least half a day.
Enter and View
One of the statutory powers of Healthwatch Bracknell Forest is that Authorised Representatives can ‘Enter & View’ health and social care facilities and services to find out how they are being run and make recommendations where there are areas for improvement. A large percentage of the feedback Healthwatch Bracknell Forest have received is about GP Practices, this has triggered a programme of rolling enter and view visits to GP Practices.
Terms of Reference
It was agreed that the terms of reference would be updated to reflect a change that any member of a SPG was welcome to attend the Patient Assembly meetings. For matters of voting one surgery would still have one vote. It is up to each SPG to decide who their lead representative would be.
Contract with Healthwatch
The current contract with Healthwatch to act as secretary comes to an end in March 2016. Alex Tilley asked representatives to email her directly about how they would like to proceed. Post meeting note: Alex has moved to Windsor and Ascot CCG for 6 months. Please email / Contact Karen Maskell if intrested.
