1 / Forming Groups - Students are to find a group of friends who share the same memorable moment. With up to 8 in a group, students are to briefly describe what happened and record it on a piece of paper. No more than a paragraph. Where, When, Who, Why – A brief paragraph describing the event is to be included. Included why it was so memorable for you all.
Assigning Roles - Backdrop, Character Creation, Storyboarding – Students pair up and assign the following roles to the group. / Evaluation
2 / Story Boarding – Using a storyboard proforma, students are to draw each camera angle and describe the movement of each shot. They will need to include a detailed picture showing what is happening, a description of what is going on in the scene, and the movement of the character.
/ Evaluation
3 / Sketching a Backdrop – Students (if possible) are to take a photo of the area in which the event happened. Using that image, they are to sketch a design of the backdrop and include a list of props that are to be made. A list of resources are to be included, as well as props and the resources need to create them.
/ Evaluation
4 / Character Design–Students are to brainstorm possible character creation resources. They need to ensure that the resource is strong, colourful and manoeuvrable. Using the character creation sheet, students are to sketch their characters and include a list of resources needed to create them.
/ Evaluation
5 / Show Time– One scene at a time, students are to create a still scene from their story board and present it to the photography room for filming. The teacher is to firstly agree to the scene, then, take the necessary film shots. No students are to enter the room as the still shot photography will be jeopardised. / Evaluation
6 / Editing–Once the scene is completed, the students are to sit with a teacher and observe their completed scene on the computer. As no sound is available, students will need to create and photograph narrative cards describing the scene and adding to the plot and theme. / Evaluation
7 / Polishing Your Product – Once filming and texts have been combined, students are to view their final product and, if the story lacks anything, edit it and clean it up. / Evaluation
