Longines Kentucky Oaks is the Kentucky Derby’s $1 million companion race for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles. Untapable with jockey Rosie Napravnik won the 140th running of this prestigious Group 1 race. The official color of the Longines Kentucky Oaks is pink in celebration of all the women in attendance. The Pink Out encourages all Oaks attendees to wear pink or incorporate pink into their attire to show their support for cancer survivors. Longines Kentucky Oaks Day guests lined up at the pink carpet to attend the Longines Kentucky Oaks Fashion Contest with celebrity judge and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Simon Baker. The elegance and iconic style of the Kentucky Derby was front and center as Longines and the judges chose the most elegant lady and awarded her a stainless steel and rose gold cap Longines watch with diamond bezel from the Conquest Classic collection. Conquest Classic watches were also presented to the winning horses’ owner, trainer and jockey on Longines Kentucky Oaks Day.
The Conquest Classic line is a tribute to the chronographs produced by Longines as early as 1878 and seen on the racetracks in New York as early as 1881. This collection of models, all fitted with self-winding calibers, is both contemporary and perfectly timeless, representing the brands’ rich tradition and watch-making expertise. Conquest Classic is available in three sizes. The ladies’ models have a diameter of 29.50 mm with a black, mother-of-pearl or silvered dial and are available in steel, rose gold or a combination of steel and rose gold cap. A second model with hours, minutes and date is available with a diameter of 40.00 mm, fitted on black alligator straps or steel or steel and rose gold bracelets, each to match the dial. At 41 mm, the chronographs are fitted with a column-wheel movement exclusively developed for Longines. The case is either in steel, steel and rose gold cap or rose gold alone with a silvered or black dial.
