SCIENTIA EXERTUS 2014-16

Scientia Exertus is a competition for those who believe in their own ideas. It is an innovative and thought-provoking national level science competition for students, conducted with an objective to provide a platform for presenting inventive ideas or concepts in the field of science.The competition aims at inspiring the curious young minds to think beyond the limits of prevalent notions.The programme opens a window for the students to experience and introduce new ideas and thoughts that would pave the way to a dynamic world of scientific creativity and inventions.

Competition format: Comprehension Round:

There will be multiple passages pertaining to the topic assigned to the category. The participant has to read through the passage and answer the multiple choice questions.

The Competition format: Online Critical Essaying Round

DATE of Online Submission: 15th to 31st August 2016.

Category IV- Classes 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Topic for the Competition:

Class 8 to 12: Future Transportation.

The SE Senior will have only individual assessments.

Science is all about questioning established social conclusions.

Critical Essaying round is introduced to inculcate the habit of critical thinking along with scientific analysis among the students thus providing them a platform for expanding their scientific knowledge horizon.

The students are provided with research papers published by leading universities and also in science journals. The critical essaying round requires the students to deeply comprehend the paper allotted to them and understand the motive and application of the scientific work described in the research paper.

The student is then expected to submit an essay:

(A) Describing the pros and cons of the research work elucidated in the paper

(B) Their comments about the practical applicability of the research,

(C) Their own version of possible modification of the research work, which they believe can improve the positive impact of the project.

This way the student is introduced in true sense to the methodology of approaching and writing a research paper.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ALL CONTESTANT:

·  Every participant is provided with a unique CIN (Candidate Identification Number) which is to be used to login to the Scientia Exertus website www.marrsscientiaexertus.com to check Result/Preparatory material/Payment options in Competition schedule (UAE Exchange/EAZY PAY).

·  To register for the competition pay a registration fee of Rs.400/-. Transaction charges will apply. Ensure you get the TRANSACTION NUMBER.

LAST DATE FOR PAYMENT - 10th August 2016 (late fees will be applicable after this date).

·  Once you register for the critical essaying round with your CIN and transaction details you will get a TRN/PRN.

·  Carry and Submit payment receipt WITH TRANSACTION NUMBER on the day of the Competition.

·  Those who have not purchased the School Level Material can do so on the day of the Orientation

·  You will be able to submit the essay once you have generated the TRN/PRN.

·  You may type the essay only in the space allotted online for the submission.

·  Please read the instructions given before framing the online critical essay.

·  You will be able to submit the essay only during the dates open for submission

·  While working on the essay you may save it on the draft mode for review and betterment before submission.

·  Once you finish the essay you may click on the button Submit Essay.

·  The essay should not exceed more than 1000 words.
