Upcoming Dates & Plans
A calendar is being formed to include important dates with input from all board members. The goal is to have this resource for future years so important dates for key items are not missed. Current upcoming items include:
-Auction: April 28th @ Heathman Lodge, block of rooms available at $112
-Clinics scheduled: Sunday afternoon player clinics through February for a total of 5 clinics. First was held 1/21 with a good turnout. Plans to split tball from PAC in upcoming weeks so 3 levels will be held each week.
-Opening Ceremonies: update from prior minutes, opening ceremonies will be held on Saturday, March 17th. Hoping to start the day at noon with pictures, then hit-a-thon and ceremony at 3:00.
-Player evaluations, team selections & drafts: Player evaluations will be Saturday, February 10th. Make up days will be either the 12th or 13th. Drafts will be conducted February 15th 6:00 (AL) and 8:00 (NL)
Budget
Budget was presented and approved.
By Law Updates and Review
Updates were made, including rules pertaining to stealing bases, All Star voting and pitch count limits. Remaining minor adjustments will be made and emailed out for voting.
Facility Improvements/Upgrades
-NL field is done (and under budget!!!)
-Sewer line is in! Long-term goal is now bathrooms. Once engineer plans are complete then we’ll submit for permits.
-Concession floor has been removed and rebuilt with new flooring installed
-This became a bigger project than expected, but the outcome has been great.
-The County will pave the parking lot this summer. Clark County has agreed to waive fees for this project to allow us to put these funds toward ADA compliance throughout the complex.
Registration Updates
Registration numbers are looking good and are pacing just slightly higher than last year. In person registration was held 1/20 and will also be on 1/24. Cut off is set for the end of February.
Coach Development & Recruiting
Packets have been made for coaches to include: practice notes, Coach Deck cards, rulebook and codes of conduct (player, coach, parent). These willbe distributed during mandatory meetings with expectations made clear. Additionally visits will be made to practices to ensure they’re not needing additional assistance.
