This course emphasizes the culture, ethnicity, gender, language, nationality, race, religion, and social class distinctions of the various groups of Mexican descent in Mexico and the US Southwest.

This course is the first half of the survey history of Mexicans in the United States. It traces the historical evolution of Mexican peoples from before the European Invasions to the United States war against Mexico in 1846-48.

1.  LIBRARY BOOK COLLECTION - Review the library book collection by searching the

The LAMC library has ample resources for the adequate fulfillment of the requirements of this course. These include both electronic books and traditional book sources. Some are aged, but others are up to date. Except in the case of pre-Invasion Meso-American civilizations, the publication dates of most of these works need not be problematic. In the case of Meso-America, the holdings in this library are comparable to those in other libraries in regards to publication dates and the information contained therein.
