The Petrified Forest Series

& The Peace Flame Tree

The Petrified Forest series is an important focus of our Georgian Bay environment. This Canadian series expresses my love of nature, the beauty of the environment through the majestic pine trees, colourful rocks and the waters changing from calm to crashing white caps. I watch the Northern Lights and brilliant sunsets changing in patterns and vibrant colours across the horizon. I listen to the hypnotic sounds of the waves crashing against the shores, both tranquil and violent in their moods. I hear and feel the winds calm and gentle to the cheek like a breath of fresh air that shifts the every elements of nature surrounding us.I walk along the sand and climb the rock formations. I feel contentment, inner peace and relaxing solitude that this land has blessed us with. Georgian Bay is a romantic and peaceful place for me to reflect and paint my love for Canada’s nature and the environment. This is the most powerful series of my creative works. The Peace Flame Tree sculpture is a continuation from this series in the media of wood, canvass and stainless steel.
