The regular meeting of the Water Department began at 10:00a.m. Present were Comm. Benson, Comm. Nadon, Comm. Paquette, Supt. Cassavant and Jean Wrobel.

The Commissioners’ reorganized – Comm. Benson is Chairman, Comm. Paquette and Comm. Nadon is Clerk.

The minutes of the April 6th, 2017 meeting were read. Comm. Nadon made a motion to accept minutes with one change and was 2nd by Comm. Paquette. Motion passed 3-0.

OLD BUSINESS:

The one change was Comm. Nadon made a motion to still cancel Unifirst Corp. at $25.00 per person per week and pay the Water Department employees’ $250.00 per year for clothing and boots and was 2nd by Comm. Paquette. Motion passed 3-0.

Jean Wrobel emailed Nick Wilbur at McClure Engineering about bid packages for the tank painting on Long Hill Road. Nick was away on his honeymoon, came back May 3rd and is here today working on the survey of the tank and will keep us posted on the work progress each week. Comm. Paquette made a motion for the money amount on the tank painting from Water Stabilization of $300,000.00 and was 2nd by Comm. Nadon. Motion passed 3-0.

Jean Wrobel also emailed Molly at Tata & Howard about the Water Distribution System Map. Molly is sending two copies to the Water Department and emailed the file GIS to Jean.

Unifirst Co. picked up uniforms, not happy, but took them back.

NEW BUSINESS:

Supt. Cassavant informed the Commissioners’ that the Iron at Well #1 is very high. He got three quotes to Rehabilitate Well #1. 1) F.G. Sullivan - $12,934.00 2) Denis L. Maher - $13,783.00 and 3) Maher Services $ 14,205.00. Comm. Nadon made a motion to accept F.G. Sullivan Drilling Co. Inc. at $12,934.00 and was 2nd by Comm. Paquette. Motion passed 3-0.

Supt. Cassavant also informed the Commissioners’ that the Iron & Manganese coming out of Plant #2 is concerns for looking into the possibility to add filtration sooner than we hoped at Plant #2. Need to research our options. Commissioners’ will take under advisement.

LeGrant Electric is planning to start the underground Electric & Telephone lines up to the Water Storage Tank May 15th on Long Hill Road.

Barry Nadon Sr. was Re-elected – Comm. Benson and Comm. Paquette - Congratulated him.

Comm. Nadon made a motion to adjourn meeting at 11:00a.m. and was 2nd by Comm. Paquette. Motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 11:00a.m
