STONE BRIDGE DECA OFFICER APPLICATION 2018-2019
Stone Bridge DECA officers are expected to work as a team to establish goals for community service, competition and fundraising as well as lead the chapter to achieve these goals. To be successful in this role DECA officers are expected to have certain qualifications and must be willing to commit the time, energy and enthusiasm required to be a successful DECA leader.
Qualities of a Great Officer Candidate will:
●Work hard to provide leadership at all Stone Bridge DECA activities and events
●Make arrangements to attend a majority of DECA activities
●Attend all meetings and functions of DECA on time and be an active participant
●Check in with the advisors at least twice a week regarding duties

Stone Bridge DECA Officer Requirements:
●Possess leadership skills or aspirations to become a leader
●Attend officer meetings every Monday and/or Wednesday before school
●Attend every chapter event and activity to the best of your ability
●Must have at least one year of DECA experience to qualify for an officer position
●Must be a junior or senior to apply for President or Executive Vice President
●Attend Officer training and executive team activities that include and are not limited to:
oOfficer training (June, August and FLC in September or October)
oOfficer meetings (weekly)
oChapter meetings (first Tuesday of each month)
oOfficer Installation Banquet (October)
Mr. Anderson will select DECA officers for the 2018-2019 team based on the following criteria:

President / Responsible for connecting with Chartered Association (Virginia DECA) Officers and establishing chapter vision, management, and organization that ensures each chapter officer has the training, support, accountability, and resources to deliver a powerful DECA experience for each member. Ideal candidates possess strong public speaking, organization and interpersonal skills and demonstrate initiative & follow through with chapter duties & tasks.Executive VP / Responsible for assisting the President and advisors. The Executive VP will be responsible for attending Stone Bridge ICC meetings when president cannot attend. Executive VP needs to help plan, organize and implement VA DECA day activities and breakfast. Additionally, the Executive VP should co-organize the DECA member Initiation ceremony with President, attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings & DECA activities, and consistently communicates with DECA advisors and officer team.
VP of Community / Responsible for building our connection with our local community. This will involve working with local businesses to build relationships that can help benefit Stone Bridge DECA. This can include securing professional members, judges for DLC, or setting up fundraising opportunities. This position should attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings, DECA activities, and should consistently communicate with the DECA advisors and the rest of the officer team.
VP of Competition / Responsible for helping Stone Bridge DECA members prepare for competitions. Will work with other officers and advisors to setup practice sessions and secure practice materials for DLC, SLC, and ICDC. This position should attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings, DECA activities, and should consistently communicate with the DECA advisors and the rest of the officer team.
VP of Membership / Responsible for helping secure marketing students as DECA members. This individual will be in charge of speaking to all classes at the beginning of the year to help boost membership numbers. They will also generate ideas on how to incentivize students to join DECA. The VP of Membership will be expected to keep a record and log all membership forms in the first few months of school. This position should attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings, DECA activities, and should consistently communicate with the DECA advisors and the rest of the officer team.
VP of School Store / Responsible for the K9 Korner. This individual will be in charge of all things school store. They will help create schedules and remind Advanced Marketing students of upcoming shifts. Will also lead all efforts to drive business into the K9 Korner. The VP of School Store will work with advisors and Advanced Marketing students to create new merchandise ideas. They will also be the lead on the SBE DECA project. This position is only for rising seniors who have been actively involved in our DECA chapter and are knowledgeable of the K9 Korner and its operations. This position should attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings, DECA activities, and should consistently communicate with the DECA advisors and the rest of the officer team.
VP ofMedia / Responsible for all social media aspects of Stone Bridge DECA. This individual will run the SB DECA Remind and Twitter accounts. They will also work this year to setup new social media accounts such as Instagram and/or Snapchat. They are expected to be a presence on social media, posting and re-tweeting various times weekly. The VP of Media will also be tasked with creating various promotional items throughout the year, including flyers, videos, and the display case. This individual should be creative and have knowledge of design techniques. This position should attend all DECA Officer Team meetings, chapter meetings, DECA activities, and should consistently communicate with the DECA advisors and the rest of the officer team.
