What version of Android is the BrailleNote Touch using as its operating system?

A: The Touch uses android 4.4 Kitkat as its operating system in the background. We needed a stable foundation to build KeySoft upon and Kitkat provided the best experience for our users with the accessibility benefits provided to our developers by Google. Today almost 50% of all android devices are running an operating system less than android Kitkat worldwide, so we are confident that Google will continue to support Kitkat for several years to come. And as HumanWare has developed KeySoft, the accessibility service that runs on the Touch, it is not dependent on google accessibility modifications and will be modified as needed to accommodate for any app or system changes.
