SOCCER DRAW
TERM 2 and 3 2012
Wednesdays
Various School locations
- All Soccer Matches appear on this draw.
- Matches are indicated on a weekly basis. Each week has a grid with all of the soccer venues available for that week. Your teams will be found by using the numbers indicated on the next page.
- I have endeavoured to give teams the same amount of home away games but this was not always possible.
- Shields are presented in Senior A and B grades.
- There are 45teams entered in Soccer. With different numbers in each grade there ended up being 22 games per week, with a bye in A grade each week, and some where people requested a week off due to camps etc.
- Senior A and B grade and Middle A grade will follow a ‘core’ draw (similar to Netball). There will be 9 shield rounds in A grade (so everyone plays each other once).
- After Week 10, the shield standings will be used to determine FINALS match ups (for 22nd August). The winners of the A and B IGSSA shields will be determined by the results of those FINAL match ups. Should that match be a draw, whoever finished higher after the shield rounds will win the shield.
- Dependent on number of teams entered, most weeks you will have 3 venues (1 home and 2 away)
- Draw information:
- Senior A Grade – 9 teams entered;therefore there it takes 9 weeks to complete a full shield round. With 2 other weeks available, there is 2 teams you play twice (these are non shield match ups – indicated by NS on the draw). There is a bye each week. The Shield rounds are Weeks 2-10.
- Senior B Grade – 8 teams entered; only need 7 shield rounds, thereso this would take 7 weeks (as such, there are a number of non shield matches throughout the draw. This is indicated by NS)
- Senior A and B will be at the same venue each week.
- Senior C Grade – There are only now 5 teams entered, so there is a bye each week sadly.
- Middle A and B Grades – There are 8 teams in this grade, so you will play a number of the teams twice.
- In the year 7/8 comp (introduced in 2009) there are also 8 teams entered.
- For the purposes of easy reading the Soccer grades are listed as A,B,C,D,E, F (D is Middle A’s, E is Middle Band F is the Year 7/8 comp)

Please note: With the late addition of a new C team, the C draw changed quite a bit. There wasn’t a lot of flexibility, as the other games/venues were locked in. If you see that you would like/need to change where your C game is allocated, please chat with your opponent for that particular match up.
