Lets start with my Kids... I have 8 Havanese now. We just kept a Female from our last litter. 6 Females 2 Males. As you see I introduce them as my Kids. They are my babies and they all live in the house with me my Husband Lenny and Australian Shepherd ( we call her the babysitter) and 5 cats.
Puppies are born on my couch with me at hand from start to finish. I don't leave them for a second unless I am relieved for short breaks, My girls depend on me and are very needy at that time. After they are born and she is all done I clean her up and move her and her Babes to a playpen in my Living room. They stay there for 4 weeks until they are ready to use a wee wee pad and play harder. They then go to a large pen in a sitting room off of my bedroom, it's all open. The room has a gate now so at 6 weeks they get playtime outside the pen for several hours a day more as they get older. All of this time from day one they are loved, handled, cuddled, and kissed several times a day and when they are ready for the floor I am right there with them being licked and chewed on. Or whoever is in the house at the time. These dogs/puppies are little clowns and you just can't resist them!
They are ready to leave me at 10 weeks or older depending on their maturity and the adopter's availability for them once they go home. Before they leave they see the Vet for their well puppy checkup and vaccinations
I do not have a waiting list but will update you on upcoming Litters. If you find your Fur baby elsewhere just let me know and I will stop sending you updates. Waiting lists don't work in my opinion. People just can't wait, And that’s ok.
If I let you know of a Litter and you are ready you let me know and we go from there. We accept Deposits at whelping, but that just puts you in order to pick. You do not have to pick until 4-5 weeks. You should already have decided Male or Female.
I do not believe in early spay/neuter that is up to you to do at approximately 7 months. At which time I strongly encourage it for the best Pet ever!!!
I can usually tell you what colors for which pair but it's a science I really didn't get into so it's a guess from history of my pairs.
As far as Pens and where the Puppies spend their time,,, The Puppies are always in a large pen unless I am with them to supervise. My adults all have their own pen but are only in them if I leave the house. At night just the boys are penned. It makes it easier when a female is in heat.. We all sleep better. My dogs like their pens. If I say "Mommy's gotta go" they all get in their own little place. And wait for me to return. I am A big fanof crate training.
