SUPER SCHOOL AWARD

(NationalSchool Lunch Week)

2014-2015

Each year, FSNA honors members who have successfully promoted the school foodservice nutrition program during National School Lunch Week with the SuperSchoolAward. It recognizes a school center (elementary and secondary) for their outstanding promotional activities during NSLW.

Background

National School Lunch Week (NSLW) was established in 1963 by a proclamation from President John F. Kennedy. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946. It provides nutritionally balanced, low cost or free lunches to children each school day.

Who May Apply

Foodservice Employee/Manager section members of SNA, FSNA and local associations may apply for this award. A Foodservice Employee/Manager section member is one who is assigned to one school or a central kitchen that serves more than one school.

Even if you have submitted an award in the past, do not start until you have read the General Information and Procedures, Award Application Process.

Selection Procedure

The application must be postmarked on or before February 1, 2015and sent to the FSNAoffice: 124 Salem Court, Tallahassee, FL 32301. Attn: Scholarships and Awards Chair. Awards will be based on entries of both elementary and secondary for small, medium, and large districts (See District Size Determination Chart on page five[5]). (Total of six [6] possible awards). All documentation must be neatly bound in a 1” 3 ring notebook, on one-sided 8 ½” x 11” paper, with the completed entry form serving as the cover page for all documentation.A maximum of 15 pictures will be accepted (clipart is not considered a picture). NO Booklets, CD’s, DVD’s, pencils or other props will be accepted! Your book will not be judged if it does not have the required documentation.

Recognition

Winners will receive recognition and a matted, framed certificate at the FSNA Annual State Conference.
