Project description summary
To improve the community, this project will entail the design and building of a park and playground for the children of the University area. The playground will be designed for the children between the ages of 5 to 12.
The demolition of the existing building, currently located on the site, is scheduled to be completed by September 5th 2011.
This community rehabilitation project budget is $300,000.

Lack of adequate parks and playgrounds in the area of the University to be rectified by Jan. 5 2012.

·  Build the park within the budget of $300 000
·  Complete the project by January 5, 2012
·  Ensure that the playground is suitable and safe for children aged 5 to 12
3.  Project Scope (In Scope and Out of Scope)
The project will include:
·  Design and building of a park and playground for children
–  Getting community approval
–  Getting proper permissions
–  Conducting Soil Contamination Study
The project will not include:
·  Demolishing of the existing building on site and removal of the debris

5. ASSUMPTIONS, CONSTRAINTS & DEPENDENCIES
Assumptions:
·  The old building will be successfully removed without any issues
·  The city utilities (water, Hydro ) is currently serving the park area
·  The land is free of claims and liens
·  The weather will allow construction
·  Budget of the project is maximum of $300 000
Constraints:
·  The park and playground has to be built on the ¼ area lot
·  The playground must be suitable and safe for 5 to 12 years old children
·  The weather during the project period could stop construction
·  Budget of the project is maximum of $300 000
Dependencies:
·  Building Demolition Project is completed on time
·  Approval to build from the soil contamination study is received
·  Approval of the design and approval to build from the community
·  All building code permits are received
6. Anticipated Hard and/or Soft Benefits and Estimated Costs
The project budget is $300,000 but the current estimate cost is $150,000
Benefits:
·  The park and playground will improve community involvement
·  The park will provide the community a place for social events
·  The playground will promote physical activity for children
·  The construction of the park and playground will provide two months’ worth of construction jobs
