DPPJ on Campus: Pre-Event Checklist

1.  Develop a team of 2-5 people (mix of students and at least one staff member).

2.  Setup a meeting a week into the new school year to discuss the time, location, target groups/clubs, agenda and promotional resources on campus. As well discuss funds needed for the type of event you are holding and what club or departments on campus could assist in sponsoring the event.

3.  Place space request within the 1st and 2nd week of school to secure the time and location of the event. Also request specific funds that were outlined (for food, fliers/copies, handouts, decorations, etc) for the event in advance.

4.  September – Promote, promote, promote! Make sure the event is listed in Campus News Outlets (campus channel, Campus newspaper, Online Campus Schedule of Events); as well as social media (facebook, twitter, etc). Post fliers around campus/cafeteria at least 3 weeks in advance to the event, and send out a reminder email once a week 2 weeks out from the event to your distribution email list of students and staff or to club presidents to share with their clubs.

5.  In preparation for the actual day, those that will be assisting in setting up, leading, and praying prayer points- log into the website to access the tutorials on Israel, prayer points, videos and power points. Assign a prayer point or two to each person and have them study the specific points for the day of the event. You can be creative on how you share the information via handouts, slideshow, or videos on the day of the event. Just make sure everyone leading a prayer is prepared and has a general idea of the format each person will follow in order for it to run smoothly.
