Jeremy Beavers is a guitarist, songwriter, and teacher from the Atlanta, Georgia area. He is an oft-requested performer regionally both as a solo classical/fingerstyle guitarist for weddings, banquets, church services, and other special occasions, and as part of the acoustic rock duo Jeremy and Jon. He has performed in a wide variety of venues including the Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center, Falany Performing Arts Center, Chateau Elan, Ansley Golf Club, Groomsbridge Clubhouse, Ragamuffin Music Hall, and many church venues. Beavers has performed in masterclasses for and received private lessons from renowned classical guitar performers and teachers from around the world such as the Assad Duo, Elena Papandreou, Roberto Aussell, Michael Newman, Bruce Holzman, Adam Holzman, Safa Yeprem, Mary Akerman, David Burgess, Jonathan Dotson, and Edward Minjarez. He was selected to perform in the Fall 2009 Kennesaw State University honors recital and has been featured twice in concert with the Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble. In 2010, he performed at the American Choral Directors Association Southeastern Division convention with the Kennesaw State University Chamber Singers both as a charango soloist and vocalist. Beavers has been involved in the performance of new classical music by composers such as Brett Carson, Brett Kelly, Can Bilir, and Steven Melin and premiered Kelly's solo guitar work Torus in Spring 2011; he also performs original acoustic rock with Jeremy and Jon. He performed regularly with the Kennesaw State University Classical Guitar Ensemble Fall 2008-Spring 2012, collaborated with tenor Michael Alcorn in December 2010, and performed in collaboration with flutist Darcy Parker Spring 2011-Fall 2011. In March 2012, Beavers premiered Turkish composer Can Bilir's guitar quartet Gitar Dörtlü with Safa Yeprem, Mary Akerman, and Alma Mujagic. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance:Classical Guitar from Kennesaw State University and resides in the Atlanta area where he performs solo classical and fingerstyle guitar music; performs acoustic rock with Jeremy and Jon; teaches guitar classes and private lessons; and pursues recreational powerlifting.
