AHOUSE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF MICKEY SMITH LITCHFIELD OF CAMDEN AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mickey Smith Litchfield of Camden on November 23, 2015, at the age of sixtyfive; and
Whereas, born in Camden on May 17, 1950, Mickey Smith Litchfield was the daughter of Bruce and Mildred Smith and a 1968 graduate of Camden High School. A loving wife and mother to her children, she instilled in them a confidence that they could achieve anything through God and perseverance; and
Whereas, this lifelong lover of music wasan accomplished pianist and organist and served throughout most of her lifeas a church pianist and organist; and
Whereas, in the earlier days of her career, Mickey worked for Belk at its buying office in Charlotte, as well as at Eastern Airlines. She also worked for Pepsi as a sales consultant. In recent years, Mickey enjoyed working at the South Carolina House of Representatives as a legislative aide; and
Whereas, in addition to her notable musical and career talents, Mickey possessed a strong gift and love for interior design. She often helped friends and family decorate their homes in magazineready style. However, her passion and calling was that of being a grandmother, and God blessed her with five beautiful grandchildren, ages one through six; and
Whereas, she leaves to cherish hermemory her parents; her beloved husband, Charles Braxton Litchfield; a son, Jonathan McLean Robinson (Jennifer); a daughter, Caroline Litchfield Foster (Jason); five grandchildren, McLeanRobinson, LucyRobinson, Mary Lancaster Robinson, William Foster, and Andrew Foster; her sisters, Martha Smith Tingen (Jim) and Linda Smith Atkinson (James); and a host of other family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Mickey Smith Litchfield of Camden and extend the deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Charles Braxton Litchfield for the family.
